03:41 idiosyncrat Sorry to be scarce the past few days -- internet troubles
03:41 idiosyncrat I've thrown together my quick-n-dirty literate programming system for Lua
03:42 idiosyncrat It's called luatangle -- there was a TeX package with the same name,
03:42 idiosyncrat but apparently it disappeared some years ago.
03:43 idiosyncrat It allows me to do the most important things I did with Cweb -- write the code primarily as a document,
03:43 idiosyncrat and un-tie the order of presentation of the code from its layout in the Lua file.
03:44 idiosyncrat I did this now because there were beginning to be notes on the code I was not making ...
03:44 idiosyncrat or not making well ...
03:44 idiosyncrat because of the limits of comments.
03:45 idiosyncrat Lua's comment syntax is as good as I've seen, but comments are tied to the order of the code,
03:45 idiosyncrat and there are inherent limits.
03:46 idiosyncrat I'll probably be talking more about luatangle

15:47 idiosyncrat Still Internet troubles
15:48 idiosyncrat My connectivity is off and on
15:51 idiosyncrat For markdown processing, I've install pandoc -- that was trouble-free
15:52 idiosyncrat Aria: thanks for the suggestions.
15:52 idiosyncrat Actually luatangle is pretty agnostic about the text processing system it is used with.
15:53 idiosyncrat It looks for lines of the form:
15:53 idiosyncrat -- luatangle: ....
15:54 idiosyncrat and intreprets the '...' stuff as commands
15:55 idiosyncrat it uses these commands to find code and reassemble it into other files.
15:56 idiosyncrat The amount of prefixing is tracked, and a section of code is automatically ended when luatangle hits outdented text ...
15:56 idiosyncrat so section ends are usually detected automatically.
15:57 idiosyncrat Very simple, quick to write, and does for me 90% of what I used CWeb for.
16:09 idiosyncrat Apparently though my situation with staying on-line today is not as bad as UA or the NYSE.
