18:12 idiosyncrat1 "My first use of the marpa parser  was one of those rare occasions where you are pleasantly stunned at the  quality, speed, and flexibility of a library."
18:12 idiosyncrat1 The above from https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=10220473
18:13 idiosyncrat1 I certainly enjoyed reading that. :-)

19:21 jdurand For those wanting to hack with Marpa::R2 perl package: https://plus.google.com/105243759955561553019/posts/TEwBnm9Kfud
19:36 idiosyncrat1 jdurand: Interesting
19:36 idiosyncrat1 In the G+ post, should "works like a threat" be "works like a treat"?
19:37 idiosyncrat1 :-)
19:58 idiosyncrat1 Perhaps related -- I've toyed with the idea of a "Marpa::R2D2"
19:59 idiosyncrat1 That is, right now Marpa::R2 is frozen except for bug fixes ...
19:59 idiosyncrat1 and it also internally is clogged with support for a lot of earlier interfaces.
20:00 idiosyncrat1 I want to keep Marpa::R2 that way, because it's already full of features people have yet to exploit, ...
20:00 idiosyncrat1 and is very, very stable.
20:01 idiosyncrat1 But perhaps a fork, which drops a lot of the backward compatibility, and is open to changes, might be useful.
20:02 idiosyncrat1 I could not actually spend time on it -- what with the new paper, supporting Marpa::R2, and Kollos, I'm hard put to make progress on my current tasks.
20:04 idiosyncrat1 (The name Marpa::R2D2 comes from a quip by Gabor Szabo.)
20:13 jdurand oups - thnx for the typo you've found
20:15 jdurand I was thinking to a fork as well indeed. With a Moo-based interface, and eventually my marpaWrapper instead of the XS - but at least a revisit of the perl interface
20:18 jdurand good night all - for the record, I have a full working protoype of XML grammars since a lot of time - and is just doing a heavily optimized perl version that is SAX aware + streaming aware - then prototype over, I'll come back to the C version - that's why getting closed to the thin interface is of interest for me
20:18 jdurand "getting closer"
20:18 jdurand afk
