07:59 Cheery idiosyncrat_: Worthwhile to show you this stuff again: http://leverlanguage.com/
07:59 Cheery https://github.com/cheery/lever/blob/master/lever-0.8.0.grammar
08:01 Cheery I know you don't have time to look at it, but there's marpa in the lib/chartparser.lc
08:01 Cheery Well. still missing the right-recursion parsing. it's been fast enough. :)
08:02 Cheery parsing optimization*

18:25 idiosyncrat_ Cheery: yes, I did look it over again.  Nice stuff.
18:32 idiosyncrat_ Audrey Tang, who was so influential in both the Perl6 and Marpa communities is now a Minister of Digital in the Taiwanese government: http://focustaiwan.tw/news/aipl/201608250036.aspx
18:33 idiosyncrat_ Audrey invented the radical openness with which both Perl6 and Marpa now develop.
18:34 idiosyncrat_ For example, the idea of instantly putting my every mis-hack into the cloud in public, and having almost all collaborative discussion on this IRC channel in public,
18:34 idiosyncrat_ was not mine, and would not have seemed acceptable to me had Audrey not pioneered it.
18:36 idiosyncrat_ It's a surprsing move, but the link seems not to be a joke or a hoax, and their goals for her seem to be quite realistic.

18:55 lucs Yes, I think Audrey was one of, if not the first, persons to implement the extremely innovative and influential idea of letting just about anyone have a commit bit.
18:58 lucs It really helped the Perl 6 implementation to take off, and the tests that were produced at that time (for 'pugs', written in Haskell) became the core of the tests for current implementations.
18:59 lucs I hope her new role as a government official goes well.

19:19 idiosyncrat_ lucs: I once had an exchange with Larry and he confirmed that the radically open style Perl 6 currently uses is taken from Audrey
19:20 idiosyncrat_ The overwhelming influence on Marpa's development style is, of course, the Perl 6 team.
