05:36 idiosyncrat I'm still wondering how large a C source file I can portably create.
05:37 idiosyncrat I haven't heard anybody mention a limit other than the size of virtual memory for years.
05:38 idiosyncrat But I learned C programming on 16-bit machines, so I carry over a lot of conservative habits.
05:39 idiosyncrat Marpa has never run on 16-bit machines and initially I wanted to check the architecture for 32-bit-ness, which at this point seems kind of laughable.
05:40 idiosyncrat My Internet problems continue on and off.  It's hurt my ability to stay in touch, but it has not slowed my work on Marpa::R3/Kollos.
05:41 idiosyncrat Good night!

19:51 jdurand Re https://irclog.perlgeek.de/marpa/2017-01-27#i_13996910 - the thing I know for sure is that declaring very large static structures can cause trouble - concerning the size of file unit itself I do not know -;
19:52 jdurand These links with a quick googling were interesting though:
19:52 jdurand https://gcc.gnu.org/onlinedocs/cpp/Implementation-limits.html

19:55 jdurand (yes, you have to think cpp and cc)
