04:39 idiosyncrat A few minutes ago I uploaded Marpa-R3-4.001_035
04:39 idiosyncrat This is yet another "refactoring" release -- no new features.
04:39 idiosyncrat No time to hear from CPANtesters yet.
04:48 idiosyncrat 7 tests on CPANtesters, all from Andreas, all PASS.
05:00 idiosyncrat CPANtesters, 38 PASS, 1 NA, 10 FAIL.  All the FAILs are the usual from Andreas' setup.
05:45 idiosyncrat Good night!

23:20 idiosyncrat Those of you idle enough to look at my github commits may have noticed they're like an XKCD joke: https://xkcd.com/1296/
23:20 idiosyncrat Among the guidelines I use in deciding when to commit are these:
23:21 idiosyncrat 1.) Always commit after a successful run of the test suite.
23:21 idiosyncrat 2.) Commit when there's enough work that you'd be afraid of losing it.
23:24 idiosyncrat Guideline 1 is in case we ever have to bisect an error.  I'm pretty religious about it because some of the memory issues that may result from the 1000s of lines of pointer-twiddling C are almost impossible to trace directly ...
23:25 idiosyncrat Knowing which changes introduced it will often be by far the best clue to fixing it.
23:25 idiosyncrat These guidelines mean that I commit very frequently ... sometimes every few minutes.
23:27 idiosyncrat It also means the kind of meaningful commit messages you see described by some of the "best practices" guys are the exception, rather than the rule.
23:27 idiosyncrat When doing messages interferes with making the commit that may save your neck when a bug occurs, I prefer to find the bugs.
