00:26 SineSwiper ether: MetaCPAN re-indexes once an hour, I believe
00:27 ether does it process everything in 02packages, or just new arrivals?
00:27 ether I was under the impression that if a version went backwards, manual intervention was required
00:28 ether there was some issue from a month or two back where someone said that
00:28 SineSwiper probably a good assumption, actually, though since it automatically fixed itself (I assume), I figured it was the indexing
00:31 SineSwiper yeah, it's latest that is run hourly, though I'm not sure if it's smarter since a month ago or not
00:31 SineSwiper there -is- logic for downgrades, though
00:40 SineSwiper ranguard: so, I -finally- finished that 48-hour or so run of releases, and that seemed to process okay, but latest seems to choke at a different point in ES
00:41 SineSwiper it got farther than it did before the ES memory upgrade, so I'll try out 1GB
00:41 SineSwiper I'm sure production is set to something out there like 16GB
01:19 mo ether: it reindexes every 24 hours the last 25 hours, so if the downgrade happens within that window, the indexer catches it

01:20 mo we are using the RECENT.yml files to detect new uploads, not changes to 02packages

02:19 ether ok, so a 'forget indexed version' and force reindex wouldn't catch those cases, then
02:19 ether I didn't see those events show up in the tailed logfile
02:33 SineSwiper heh, ES had issues trying to process Alien::Debian::Apt::PM via latest (fancy that, considering it's 7.9MB)
02:34 SineSwiper the JSON it dumped in the error msg was frelling epic
02:35 SineSwiper wow, it's a 9.66MB script file... wtf?
02:41 grantm SineSwiper: a whole bunch of different scripts and modules packed together in one PAR file
02:42 SineSwiper well, it look like it's sprayed that all over my console in the form of a \\u00000 encoded string around a ES JSON :P
02:43 SineSwiper I think ES took it, but it just took longer than expected to process
02:44 SineSwiper hopefully, Latest is doing these upgrades one at a time and each run is processing new ones

18:31 rwstauner so which one do you install first?
18:35 * ranguard guessed red = dependency, green = depends on (when you move your mouse over one of the modules
18:36 ranguard e.g Perl::Critic requires a lot of the modules
18:36 ranguard but isn't depended on my any of the others
18:37 oalders Perl::Critic is what i used to figure that out as well :)
18:37 oalders the first person i showed it to made a joke about circular dependencies
