00:51 ether the solution he eventually settled on is ok, although it still means that you can't have code using Elasticsearch *and* ElasticSearch running at the same time
00:51 ether which is exactly one of the scenarios I described that I was hoping would be supported
00:54 trs also, it waits until runtime (->new) to die horribly.
00:54 trs instead of things like catching import.

21:11 b_jonas hello,
21:12 b_jonas on metacpan, is there a way to tell who are the current maintainers of a distribution according to cpan?
21:42 b_jonas hmm, I can't seem to sort the modules of an author by date on metacpan. I found that useful in search.cpan
21:48 haarg you should be able to
21:51 b_jonas haarg: how so? I can't just click on the date link on an author page
21:51 b_jonas nor on the browse author directory page (which doesn't even have headings)
21:52 haarg you can click on the date column heading on an author page
21:52 b_jonas I don't seem to be able to do taht
21:53 b_jonas ah wait!
21:53 b_jonas I see
21:53 b_jonas if javascript is enabled, I can click on it
21:53 b_jonas I see
21:53 b_jonas it's client-side
21:54 haarg well, the sorting is server side
21:55 haarg but it needs javascript for clicking to work
21:55 b_jonas ok
22:41 ether b_jonas: you can get the maintainers of a dist via RT, on the page that lists all the bugs for that dist
22:42 ether e.g. https://rt.cpan.org/Dist/Display.html?Status=Active&Queue=Directory-Transactional
22:42 dipsy [ Active bugs for Directory-Transactional ]
22:45 b_jonas ah, I see!
22:45 b_jonas maybe I should have guessed that
22:45 b_jonas thanks
22:45 ether it would be nifty if metacpan had a similar feature
22:45 ether RT uses a heuristic though, as technically permissions are per-module, not per-dist
22:46 b_jonas I see
22:46 ether so you have to have permissions on all the modules in the dist (in the latest version of the dist I think? or whatever's indexed? not sure!) before a name will show up
22:46 ether lots of things have imperfect views of PAUSE though
22:46 ether which is too bad
22:46 ether metacpan gets it right a lot more often than s.c.o though!
22:47 b_jonas I've no idea how all that works really
