15:39 oalders i was at a GSoC event in Toronto last week.  spoke with one of the Google employees and she said it would be worthwhile to submit MetaCPAN as an org rather than just relying on the TPF proposal
15:39 ranguard nice
15:39 oalders so, we can look into that moving forward
15:39 ranguard slide 8 - you don't clone metacpan-developer :)
15:40 oalders not sure how much work is involved, but rafl would know
15:40 oalders ranguard: i should get you to proof my slides *before* next time
15:40 oalders :)
15:40 ranguard yea, I also don't get slide 13 :)
15:41 ranguard it's edited in the 'metacpan/...' folder that are in /home/metacpan/...
15:41 ranguard otherwise cool :)
15:41 oalders i copy/pasted from the README. obviously missed a line
15:42 oalders ranguard: slide 13 makes no sense?
15:42 Farow|2 joined #metacpan
15:43 ranguard you don't edit anything in 'metacpan-developer', user shouldn't care about '/vagrant'
15:43 ranguard it's all about what's in your git/metacpan/.. and the fact they are mounted into /home/metacpan/.. or /etc/puppet (this is from memory)
15:44 ranguard there shouldn't be any other files you want to share really?
15:46 oalders sure, but i was just trying to say that as part of your dev, if you want to copy files over, it's trivial
15:46 oalders was more of a tangent about vagrant, i guess
15:47 oalders i didn't know about that until i read the vagrant book. thought it was a neat trick
15:47 ranguard ahh, ok, I guess - can't really tell what you actually said, but following just the slides that it's really useful :)
15:47 Farow|3 joined #metacpan
15:48 oalders it's more obvious with my voice droning on in the background
15:48 * ranguard nods :)
15:50 oalders am uploading a corrected version
16:01 ranguard :)
16:01 * ranguard heads home

18:31 ether looks like the indexing has fallen behind again -- for a release I made last night, the release/ page still goes to the previous version
18:32 ether the new version doesn't even show up in the 'go to versions' pulldown
18:33 ether I can navigate to it directly though -- https://metacpan.org/release/ETHER/MooseX-Object-Pluggable-0.0012

18:59 rwstauner log shows its been running, but i see a weird loop in the log
18:59 rwstauner :-/
18:59 rwstauner ha!
19:00 rwstauner amusingly, after a loop of trying to move a release to backpan, the next dist it processes is "Win32-MessageLoop"
19:02 rwstauner 2013/11/11 17:06:19 I release: Processing /home/metacpan/CPAN/authors/id/E/ET/ETHER/Dist-Zilla-Plugin-OnlyCorePrereqs-0.010-TRIAL.tar.gz
19:02 rwstauner that's the most recent log entry for you
19:02 rwstauner UTC
19:03 rwstauner oh, you said you can find it, so it's the "latest" thing that is behind
19:04 rwstauner yeah, that's weird, seems "release" gets logged a lot more than "latest" in the last day or so
19:13 Mike-PerlRecruiter_ joined #metacpan
19:16 rwstauner looks like it's up to date now

20:54 oalders rwstauner: which log were you checking?
20:55 rwstauner /home/metacpan/api.*/var/log/something i think
20:56 oalders ok.  metacpan.log :)
20:56 oalders looks like it's in a  loop for Mojolicious-4.57.tar.gz
20:57 rwstauner it was trying to backpan Geo-JSON and something else
20:57 rwstauner over and over
20:57 oalders anything change with the indexer?
20:57 rwstauner hmm
20:57 rwstauner since when?
20:58 oalders well, i think people have been remarking that it's slow for  maybe a couple of weeks
20:58 oalders it came up with the reboot, maybe
20:58 oalders not before then
20:59 rwstauner last commit on the api is from mid august
20:59 rwstauner it could be updated, but any changes i've made recently have been fairly minor
21:00 rwstauner clarification: last commit checked out on that machine
21:00 oalders maybe an updated module somewhere
21:04 oalders actually, looks like the issues moving something to backpan go back at least several weeks
21:05 oalders we should think about splitting these logs a bit.  it's a bit messy to have the ES errors in there as well
21:29 dsteinbrunner Thoughts on the feature request?: https://github.com/CPAN-API/metacpan-web/issues/989
21:29 dipsy [ Please add the most recent change content to RSS if available · Issue #989 · CPAN-API/metacpan-web · GitHub ]

22:04 oalders re: RSS feed, i don't actually use the feed, but it sounds like a reasonable request
22:29 rwstauner i've wanted "most recent changes" in the rss feed from *before* there was a metacpan
22:29 rwstauner and i believe there are other gh issues for something similar
22:29 rwstauner but not sure
22:29 rwstauner haven't looked
23:05 dsteinbrunner oalders: I have see but +1 regardless
23:06 oalders ah, i guess if you have the RSS feed it's old news :)
