18:14 ether indexing seems behind still?  e.g. https://metacpan.org/release/MooseX-Object-Pluggable goes to the n-1 release, rather than the one I made 2 days ago
18:14 dipsy [ MooseX-Object-Pluggable-0.0012 - Make your classes pluggable - metacpan.org - Perl programming language ]
18:15 ether huh, dipsy sees the new one though, wtf?
18:15 ether oh weird, reloading the page a third time worked. how odd
18:15 ether ok I'll blame this on my browser :)
18:18 rwstauner :-)
18:18 rwstauner dipsy++
18:18 dipsy rwstauner: Thanks!
18:19 haarg https://github.com/CPAN-API/metacpan-web/issues/569
18:19 dipsy [ Use cache control on "latest" module/dist pages · Issue #569 · CPAN-API/metacpan-web · GitHub ]
18:27 oalders that release page has "Last-Modified: Mon, 11 Nov 2013 04:00:23 GMT"
18:38 haarg the pages have no cache-control headers though, so browsers will sometimes cache it and not check with the server at all
18:43 oalders we should probably fix that

19:42 leont Is there an easy way to see who has favorited a distribution?
19:47 ranguard leont: something in https://github.com/CPAN-API/metacpan-examples/tree/master/scripts/endpoints/favorite ?
19:47 dipsy [ metacpan-examples/scripts/endpoints/favorite at master · CPAN-API/metacpan-examples · GitHub ]
19:49 ranguard leont: https://github.com/CPAN-API/metacpan-examples/blob/master/scripts/endpoints/favorite/6-list-plussers-by-module.pl seems like just the first bit might be enough
19:49 dipsy [ metacpan-examples/scripts/endpoints/favorite/6-list-plussers-by-module.pl at master · CPAN-API/metacpan-examples · GitHub ]
19:49 ether leont: Path::Slurp::Tiny has a +2 already, I noticed ;)
19:50 leont s/Path/File/ ;-)
19:58 leont Can that be done with the web interface?
19:58 leont (@ranguard)
20:07 tianon joined #metacpan
20:21 ranguard leont: sure, when you supply the patch ;)
20:28 oalders leont: yeah, i'll put that on my list
20:30 grantm so more information is only available about users who are also CPAN authors?
20:30 oalders leont: your answer is ETHER, MATTP
20:31 oalders grantm: yeah, that's the problem right now
20:31 oalders we need to open up profiles to anyone who wants them
20:35 Farow|3 joined #metacpan
20:41 bowtie_ joined #metacpan
20:43 ranguard and then provide /user/<username> pages to display the info about them
20:47 leont Actually, my main curiousity was who the hell plussed P.pm ;-)
20:47 alnewkirk holy shit how ironic
20:48 alnewkirk I was just channel surfing and noticed this question
20:48 alnewkirk I be da one dat plus'd dat dere module
20:48 alnewkirk not because I think it good .. I haven't really looked at it
20:49 alnewkirk ... but it seemed interesting and I use the plus system as a "read later"
20:49 alnewkirk ... since metacpan doesn't have that feature
20:49 leont Ah, so it's you that I should mock :-p
20:49 alnewkirk yes please
20:50 ranguard yea, I use the ++ as a 'I must remember that module' as well
20:53 * trs also uses ++ as a way to find modules later
20:54 oalders clearly, we need a bookmarking feature
20:54 trs :)
20:55 trs I _should_ just use my normal bookmarking service, but the ++ is one click less.
20:55 oalders well, having access to that info via the api would be interesting
20:56 ranguard clearly, we need more active developers :)
20:57 leont Who doesn't?
20:57 oalders :)
20:58 alnewkirk :)
21:30 ether leont: so who ++'d P.pm? someone without a PAUSE id?
21:31 ether I use ++ as a synonym for "have used, would use again" mostly
21:31 alh ether: alnewkirk | I be da one dat plus'd dat dere module
21:31 alh ^ ?
21:31 dipsy ^  is power, L is a subexponential function of the input size
21:32 alh dipsy: Thanks.
21:32 dipsy alh: alh: my pleasure
21:33 ether ah missed that
21:33 ether alnewkirk: so wtf, sir!
21:34 ether you should look at the code now, so you can --
21:34 ether (it won't take long)
21:34 oalders well, it's up to 2 ++ now
21:35 oalders AYOUNG is second
21:36 leont He plussed a zillion dists
22:08 alnewkirk ether: haha, okay gimme one sec
22:14 ether ;)
22:14 ether because if you don't, you'll have no credibility on this server :)
22:35 alnewkirk holy crap on a stick
22:36 leont Now, do you understand why I wanted to mock you?
22:38 alnewkirk (i can't stop laughing)
22:38 alnewkirk damn, that's bad
22:39 haarg be sure to look at the tests too
22:39 alnewkirk (looking)
22:41 alnewkirk yeah, that's whack
22:41 alnewkirk some people have too much time on their hands
22:41 alnewkirk --
22:41 dipsy Pbbbbtt!
22:51 ether alnewkirk: but wait! there's more! https://github.com/schwern/test-more/issues/390
22:51 dipsy [ Test::More doesn't prepare test env for script's children · Issue #390 · schwern/test-more · GitHub ]
23:03 alnewkirk so when he says children, he must be talking about executing a system/shell command?
23:04 alnewkirk if so, I have no idea why he'd think that's the responsibility of Test::More
23:05 alnewkirk oh, there are comments
23:05 ether there's so many failures of understanding here it's hard to know where to begin
23:05 * alnewkirk grabs some popcorn
23:05 alnewkirk (reading the comments)
23:05 ether she also posts fairly regularly to the perl5porters list
23:09 haarg well, to perlbug
23:09 haarg she's banned from the list itself iirc
23:11 alnewkirk what funny is the length of back-and-forth on the github ticket and the fact that the ticket is still open
23:11 alnewkirk ... as if it has any relevance
23:11 haarg that's how she responds to everything
