02:59 oalders mst: thanks!
03:01 mst oalders: remember you'll need that if you ever lose your index again
03:01 mst since your current approach is basically fucked for historical dists
03:02 oalders yeah, when we re-index we ignore the history.  if we incorporated this, we'd at least have *some* history
03:02 oalders last re-index was in january, i think
03:03 mst bear in mind that people who've moved on from dists will remove themselves as co-maints so they no longer get RT mail etc.
03:03 mst so if you don't use the historical PAUSE index, you have no way of telling if a dist was valid or not
03:04 oalders yeah, it's a real problem

15:14 sjn quick question: how does one go about adding a "reverse dependencies" column to the distributions listed on the reverse dependencies page?
15:22 haarg a column?
15:25 sjn column of the table
15:26 sjn https://metacpan.org/requires/distribution/ExtUtils-MakeMaker
15:26 dipsy [ Distributions which depend on ExtUtils-MakeMaker - metacpan.org - Perl programming language ]
15:26 haarg maybe you meant a row?
15:26 sjn show a 4th column with the respective "weight" (number of reverse dependencies) of each release listed
15:26 haarg oh
15:27 * sjn would find that useful
15:42 leont You mean like recursive or not?
15:46 sjn yes
15:46 sjn well, just the number of all reverse dependencies
15:46 sjn "just"
15:47 BinGOs mwuahahahaha, so much I can break.
15:57 leont BinGOs: how much is there that you can't break? ;-)
16:27 BinGOs The power to destroy a thing is the absolute control over it.
16:30 * leont puts back BinGOs' copy of Dune

21:12 haarg did that latest commit get pushed out yet?
21:12 haarg it seems like it did, and it seems pretty wrong
21:13 haarg oalders: ^
21:17 oalders haarg: what seems wrong?
21:17 haarg removing ssh:// is incorrect
21:17 oalders oh, i see your comment
21:18 haarg an href should be a real url.  the git@blah is not a proper url, but a scp style shortcut.
21:18 oalders right
21:18 oalders i generally copy/paste the urls, so i guess that's why i missed it
21:19 oalders i'll revert the commit
21:19 haarg eh, don't really need to revert it
21:19 haarg both versions were wrong
21:20 oalders heh
21:21 haarg i'm not sure what the source of that url, so it might be better to fix elsewhere.
21:21 haarg needs a 'normalize to real url' function somewhere
21:21 oalders i thought it was directly from the github api
21:22 haarg possibly
21:22 haarg ah, yeah
21:22 oalders or is it...
21:22 * haarg forgetting this is in js
21:26 oalders yeah, the github api returns something like "ssh_url": "git@github.com:plack/Plack.git",
21:29 haarg oalders: i can fiddle with it a bit later if you want.  it's an easy fix, but i don't have time atm.
21:29 oalders haarg++
21:30 oalders the full output is here https://api.github.com/repos/plack/Plack
21:30 haarg yeah, calling that a url is a bit of lie, but what can you do
21:39 oalders :)
21:40 haarg ok i lied, i did have some time.

21:42 oalders good stuff!
21:42 oalders deployed
21:45 haarg cool, seems working
21:46 haarg the github web tools can come in handy.  too bad the editor is so awful.
21:49 oalders i mostly use the editor for doc patches, so i haven't run into problems :)
21:50 haarg it's mainly the scrolling that bothers me.  it scrolls at like 10 times normal speed.
21:51 oalders i hadn't noticed that. i just search for the text i need
21:52 haarg if i even touch the mousepad though, the thing i'm looking at disappears to somewhere.
