10:50 ranguard mst i dont knowo really know what you mean by that
11:10 ranguard s/knowo //
11:33 mst ranguard: I mean "doh", and also "argh"
11:34 mst I'll need to upload another one and de-index the current one
12:01 ranguard mst: ahhh - ok :)
12:07 mst it's because rakudo has a Pod::Simple
12:07 mst ... and I have pumpking bits
12:14 ranguard I knew this new fangled Perl would end in tears :)
12:14 ranguard (or what ever rakudo is)
14:10 rwstauner is there a delay in updating an author's release page?
14:12 rwstauner nm
14:59 * rwstauner is growing weary of #949 🙀
15:12 kentnl_ joined #metacpan
15:36 ranguard rwstauner: very diplomatically handled :)
15:36 rwstauner :-)
15:37 ranguard rwstauner: yea, think that's why a couple of the closed tickets people created new ones
15:37 ranguard I guess otherwise anyone could keep reopening things the 'org' has decided to close
15:37 rwstauner yeah, it's probably better that way
15:37 rwstauner i just thought i had seen it
15:38 * ranguard as well
15:38 rwstauner or maybe i was remembering rt
15:41 ranguard oalders/rwstauner: I think we need some policy about when to close tickets
15:41 rwstauner would be good
15:42 ranguard take #973 just as an example - rwstauner you've looked into it and as far as I know we're not going to take any further action - so I'd suggest that should be closed IF the user supplies further information or feedback then we can re-open it
15:43 rwstauner yeah, i think you're right
15:43 rwstauner i left it open assuming he might comment again, but even if he does it seems like the issue is closed
15:44 rwstauner and that's how tickets get left open for years
15:44 ranguard yea, there were a lot of those!
15:44 * rwstauner closes ticket
15:44 * rwstauner feels good about it
15:44 * rwstauner thinks this power might go to his head
15:45 ranguard heh, I've done about 150 of them in the last few days :)
15:45 * mst adds to 949
15:45 mst using very small words
15:46 rwstauner :-)
15:47 mst and not letting his fundamental misunderstanding that search.cpan.org is fuck all to do with cpan go unfixed
16:08 ranguard do we think people should add to the wishlist wiki directly, or just check it, create an issue (which could have lots of detail) - then we can link to that from the wiki page (and close the issue) ?
16:09 mst I'd have them edit the wiki page, and encourage them, if they want detail, to create a page for the idea called WishList_MyIdea or something
16:10 ranguard cheers
16:11 mst ideas evolve in ways that issues shouldn't need to
16:11 mst I think
16:12 ranguard Guess it doesn't matter that a wiki entry doesn't get emailed to anyone as it's not a bug and is there for someone to review if/when they have time to write actual code
16:13 mst can you not watch a page for edits?
16:16 ranguard oh, maybe, not sure
16:16 ranguard could someone edit: https://github.com/CPAN-API/cpan-api/wiki/Issues---reporting-and-helping to test :) ?

16:20 rwstauner ranguard: done
16:21 rwstauner i closed the parens
16:24 ranguard ok, well I've not got an email about it yet
16:24 ranguard thanks
16:25 rwstauner np
16:26 rwstauner i don't see anything in github account settings for separate wiki notifications
16:27 rwstauner nor do i see a button for following the wiki
16:27 * rwstauner shrugs
16:27 rwstauner i do see your edit in my gh "news feed" though

20:44 ranguard rwstauner: you ok if I assign https://github.com/CPAN-API/metacpan-web/issues/962 to you?
20:44 dipsy [ "conflicts" in META.json is treated as a dependency link · Issue #962 · CPAN-API/metacpan-web · GitHub ]
20:51 ranguard actually - could you just put what code would need to be edited to fix it... if you don't have time :)
21:50 ranguard ok, that's it - 53 issues is the lowest I can get it - the wishlist probably needs cleaning up a bit, and I'm going to clean up mc-web links to 'feedback' and 'issues' so they go via https://github.com/CPAN-API/cpan-api/wiki/Metacpan-Issues to help reduce dupes - but that'll have to wait for another day
