13:51 clintongormley heya - does anybody know if pause will accept an upload of an older version of a module, eg if i upload 0.30 then 1.00, can i later upload 0.31? I know it won't be flagged as latest, but still possible?
13:53 leont pause will accept it, but AFAIK won't index it as latest
13:53 leont The only thing it disallows is an upload with a previously existing name
14:00 clintongormley thanks leont
14:01 leont (so deleting 0.30 and reuploading a fixed one wouldn't work)

15:07 jayallen https://metacpan.org/release/RJBS/perl-5.18.2  Wow, is that page hard to find unless you happen upon a link to it in Twitter
15:07 dipsy [ perl-5.18.2 - The Perl 5 language interpreter - metacpan.org - Perl programming language ]
15:08 jayallen (Or that thing where you click on Latest version from that page...  Checking issues in GitHub...)
15:15 oalders i'll re-index the perl release again
15:17 jayallen oalders: You have to do that every time?
15:17 jayallen https://github.com/CPAN-API/metacpan-web/issues/1036 btw
15:17 dipsy [ Searching for perl core distributions/POD is HARD/impossible · Issue #1036 · CPAN-API/metacpan-web · GitHub ]
15:17 oalders jayallen: perl is a special case because of ordering of version numbers
15:18 oalders i.e. 5.18.* is latest and not 5.19.*
15:19 jayallen Ah, right.  But it still should be find-able, right (re: issue linked above)
15:20 oalders jayallen: the problem is (i think) perl 5.18.2 is not flagged as "latest"
15:20 oalders and if it's not "latest" it will never show up in search results
15:20 oalders so the re-index should fix both issues
15:20 jayallen And because it's a special case, the latest won't show up either because it's a dev release?
15:24 oalders yeah, for perl "latest" is not necessarily the last release
15:24 oalders https://metacpan.org/release/perl is back
15:24 dipsy [ perl-5.18.2 - The Perl 5 language interpreter - metacpan.org - Perl programming language ]
15:24 oalders as is https://metacpan.org/search?q=perl
15:24 dipsy [ Search for "perl" - metacpan.org - Perl programming language ]
15:25 jayallen Gotcha.  Sorry to rock the boat. I just thought there would probably be others searching for it given the latest release
15:25 jayallen hooray!
15:25 jayallen Shall I close the bug or you
15:26 jayallen nvm :)
15:26 oalders :)
