00:48 neilb I can't sign in to MetaCPAN at the moment. I thought I was previously auto signed in. Now if I select github or twitter, it just hangs on a request to api.lo.metacpan.org -- known issue?
00:49 haarg mo: ^
00:50 haarg that url gets used for user facing urls
01:26 neilb I'm off to bed. I'll try that again tomorrow, and raise a github issue if I still get no joy

16:15 clintongormley hi all. We're planning on renaming the Perl client for Elasticsearch. Please could you help to spread the word. Tweet: https://twitter.com/elasticsearch/status/440519828105740288  Blog: http://www.elasticsearch.org/blog/renaming-perl-client/

16:57 clintongormley :)
17:00 kentnl clintongormley: Warning: Elasticsearch/V2 may have the same problem, because it may require the creation of a case-sensitive *directory*, though ether might have a better idea of wether my concern is unfounded
17:02 haarg it generally won't be a problem
17:02 ether I *think* this is ok, but I'd confirm with (andk, xdg, rjbs) to be sure -- e.g. ElasticSearch::Model and Elasticsearch::V2 being installed at the same time may lead to interesting things
17:02 haarg if ElasticSearch/ exists, the file will be installed as ElasticSearch/V2.pm
17:02 clintongormley kentnl: that's a good point, although all modules would shift to the new directory structure (eg Elasticsearch/V2/xxx)
17:02 haarg but when you require it, it will find it fine
17:03 ether as long as the filesystem stays case-insensitive, module resolution should find it
17:03 clintongormley ether: true
17:03 clintongormley using Search::Elasticsearch would solve that completely
17:03 haarg it's only a problem if you move the files to a different filesystem
17:04 clintongormley i'm certainly leaning towards the Search:: prefix

21:05 oalders do we already have an open issue for ++ showing up twice of the same module?
21:05 oalders DBI is on here twice https://metacpan.org/author/GETTY
21:05 dipsy [ Torsten Raudssus (GETTY) - metacpan.org ]
21:07 ether could that be caused by some modules in the DBI dist indexed at earlier versions (for example if the module was dropped from recent releases)?
21:08 ether I've noticed similar when looking at reverse dependencies - one dist showing up twice at different verisons
21:09 oalders well, the ++ is actually tied to the release
