02:24 webart "I'm feeling luckiy" on metacpan .... never works  for me :-|
02:24 webart I want to get lucky
02:24 webart or at least try to see if I am lucky when I feel lucky
02:39 grantm I guess that button is most useful when you know you've typed the right module name
02:40 grantm it worked for me with random modules: DBI, Dist::Zilla, HTML::Mason

04:38 oiami any idea how can I contribute or made some change on the module on cpan when the author doesn't share the link on github ?
04:39 oiami or that means the author doesn't allow us to do that ?
04:41 grantm you can email a patch
04:42 oiami (FYI: I'm a newbie) you meant report bug ?
04:43 ether oiami: you can search for it on github; it may still be there
04:43 ether but you can still submit a patch through rt.cpan.org
04:43 ether at the very least, you can file a bug saying "hey you don't tell me where your repository is!"
04:44 oiami ok, I'll try , never touch the patch things before :)
04:46 grantm oiami: I'd didn't actually mean report a bug :-)
04:46 grantm If you download the tarball from cpan, unpack it and make a change, a patch is simply a diff between how it was before you modified it and after
04:46 grantm some of us old-timers remember how things were before git and github
04:47 oiami ok , then , after I made the change and submit it back to cpan ?
04:47 grantm no email the maintainer
04:48 grantm if you unpack the tarball, you can import it into github under your own account and make changes there
04:48 oiami ahh, that's what I really want to ask
04:48 grantm if you email the maintainer they should be able to get a diff/patch out of that
04:49 oiami but I need to know about the restriction if I want to import it to my github account , right
04:49 oiami ?
04:53 grantm "the restriction" ?
04:54 oiami I shouldn't change the name of module .. etch
04:54 oiami I just guess though
04:54 oiami ahh, I found the repo after search !! , silly me  :( , I just assumed if they didn't share the link that meant didn't t exist
04:54 grantm your repository can be called what ever you like
04:55 grantm fork away!
04:55 oiami ahh, there're so many thing I should learn about open source
04:57 grantm it can be daunting when you start
04:58 grantm before you start changing code, it might be worth sending email to the module maintainer to describe the problem
05:00 oiami ok , I see

15:37 omega the pager on https://metacpan.org/requires/distribution/strictures?p=1&sort=[[2%2C1]] is seriously messed up when you start sorting? it only sorts the current page
15:37 dipsy [ Distributions which depend on strictures - metacpan.org ]
16:10 oalders you mean you want to sort everything?  ;)
16:11 oalders would be nice to add that

19:13 omega yeah, would be ncie to sort and have state across the pager pages :)
19:21 oalders omega: would be worth opening an issue for. it should be fairly trivial to implement
19:31 omega oalders: done
19:31 omega :)
