15:43 alh If you have a user id, how do you convert it back to a user name?
15:44 alh For example: First 100 distributions which SZABGAB has given a ++:
15:44 alh http://api.metacpan.org/v0/favorite/_search?q=user:sWuxlxYeQBKoCQe1f-FQ_Q&size=100&fields=distribution
15:44 dipsy urgh. long url. Try http://tinyurl.com/945or9b
15:45 alh Ah, author search with ?q=user:blahblah
15:45 alh Thanks!

16:03 oalders did alh just answer his own question?
16:03 neilb yeah, and thanked himself!
16:03 oalders :)
16:03 neilb or maybe he was thanking dipsy?
16:08 alh No I was thanking you all
16:08 alh There's some kind of weird magic in asking other people for help that makes solutions obvious
16:09 alh oalders: explorer.metacpan.org links to beta help docs which now have a single sentence saying "Docs are no longer in beta, go here!"
16:12 oalders alh: thanks -- that's fixed in git
16:12 alh Cool
16:13 oalders i hadn't deployed it because it wasn't sure how to build it.  i guess it's just this script? https://github.com/CPAN-API/metacpan-explorer/blob/master/build.sh

16:13 neilb oalders: if the metadata for a dist specifies a github repo, but doesn't explicitly give the bugtracker, does MetaCPAN assume github for the bugtracker?
16:17 rwstauner no, it shouldn't, but the javascript hover thingy will activate on any github link
16:18 neilb ok, so RT is assumed unless something is explicitly listed
16:18 oalders the issues displayed for the release is just the number of bugs as archived in the distribution endpoint
16:19 oalders http://api.metacpan.org/v0/distribution/Moose
16:21 oalders http://api.metacpan.org/v0/distribution/html-diff
16:21 oalders http://api.metacpan.org/v0/distribution/HTML-Diff
16:22 neilb But I assume you get those numbers from whatever the dist gives as its bugtracker? (and not always from RT)
16:23 oalders https://github.com/CPAN-API/cpan-api/blob/master/lib/MetaCPAN/Script/Tickets.pm
16:23 dipsy [ cpan-api/lib/MetaCPAN/Script/Tickets.pm at master · CPAN-API/cpan-api · GitHub ]
16:24 oalders er, that doesn't actually have the logic there
16:25 neilb :-)
16:26 oalders i'm actually not sure where that happens
16:34 trs neilb, oalders: yes, those numbers come from github if a github url is the bugtracker. otherwise, rt.
16:34 alh oalders: https://github.com/CPAN-API/cpan-api/blob/master/lib/MetaCPAN/Document/Release.pm#L295
16:34 dipsy [ cpan-api/lib/MetaCPAN/Document/Release.pm at master · CPAN-API/cpan-api · GitHub ]
16:35 alh find_github_based works off of the bugtracker resource
16:35 jibsheet btw, on the rt.cpan.org side, that cron job could run more often than once a day
16:35 jibsheet we're just serving a static file
16:35 alh Which is used by https://github.com/CPAN-API/cpan-api/blob/master/lib/MetaCPAN/Script/Tickets.pm#L106
16:35 dipsy [ cpan-api/lib/MetaCPAN/Script/Tickets.pm at master · CPAN-API/cpan-api · GitHub ]
16:35 alh Looks like it always searches RT, but github overrides if provided
16:36 neilb alh: should I thank you, or everyone? ;-)
16:37 oalders alh: thanks! so the logic is in Tickets.pm
16:37 alh Everyone
16:38 trs jibsheet: yup, but I think someone at metacpan decided it only needed updating once a day
16:38 neilb everyone++
16:39 oalders not sure what the overhead is on our end when that script is run. that would be the limiting factor
16:40 trs nod
16:42 trs jibsheet: can you check the crontab in rt.cpan.org-etc.git so we know the current spec?
16:42 trs I could also wait for a couple hours for the next time the timestamp at the top of the file changes :)
16:43 jibsheet hourly on the 5
16:45 trs thanks!
