01:25 rwstauner neilb: for ease and sanity i'm perfectly happy with one issue that contains a list, then anybody that looks at it (maybe me, maybe you, etc) can separate them into other issues as we find they relate or whatever
01:25 rwstauner making 75 separate issues from the start sounds like a pain for the opener and the closer
01:25 rwstauner s/a pain/excessive work/
01:29 klapperl_ joined #metacpan
01:39 oalders i think what we need is a script that does what neilb is talking about so that we could check this periodically ourselves
01:39 oalders and also pipe the output to the indexer, which may well fix some of them immediately
01:55 rwstauner indeed
01:55 rwstauner i think i have something like that in my RTM list

16:33 talina_ oalders: regarding issue #619, I would want to know more on how am I supposed to display the names? Also, we aren't gonna display the names of users without Pause IDs right? or is there a logic for that?
16:33 oalders talina_: we actually don't have the names of people without PAUSE ids
16:34 oalders so it's "these authors + X others"
16:34 oalders as far as display goes, we could use small gravatar images like github does when showing collaborators
16:34 talina_ ok...
16:34 oalders but that's just a suggestion
16:36 oalders we already do something similar on release pages https://metacpan.org/release/Plack
16:36 dipsy [ Plack-1.0030 - Perl Superglue for Web frameworks and Web Servers (PSGI toolkit) - metacpan.org ]
16:36 oalders if you click on "show them", but the layout isn't particularly nice
16:37 talina_ ah, got it
16:37 oalders IIRC the logic runs regardless of whether some clicks on the link, so that's not a great example to follow
16:37 oalders *someone
16:39 oalders but probably if we did something like the way contributors are listed here: https://github.com/CPAN-API/metacpan-web/blob/master/cpanfile
16:39 talina_ so the image display is only for pause id authors who ++ the release. What about the normal user? Will the display just show a count of these users?
16:39 dipsy [ metacpan-web/cpanfile at master · CPAN-API/metacpan-web · GitHub ]
16:39 oalders talina_: i think that's probably the best way to handle it
16:39 oalders and we may want to set an upper bound on gravatars we display
16:40 oalders https://metacpan.org/release/perl
16:40 dipsy [ perl-5.18.2 - The Perl 5 language interpreter - metacpan.org ]
16:40 oalders 173 is a lot :)
16:40 talina_ hmm, i get it.
16:42 oalders we could eventually use the gravatars here as well https://metacpan.org/favorite/recent

16:42 talina_ ok...so I basically need to design the UI for the API logic that's already present. alright :)
16:42 talina_ oh... ok
16:44 talina_ yes, that sounds good
16:45 rwstauner oalders: i've got some local work to make that "show them" contributors thing better, but i haven't pushed yet because i need to add support for stupid browsers

23:58 grantm not a metacpan issue, but http://www.cpan.org/ seems to be in a redirect loop for me. Anyone know if it's a known problem?
