03:31 ribasushi hmmmm
03:31 ribasushi my newly minted meta has 195 items in x_contributors, yet metacpan shows 187 (and in general doesn't look very good): https://metacpan.org/release/RIBASUSHI/DBIx-Class-0.082700_14
03:31 dipsy [ DBIx-Class-0.082700_14 - Extensible and flexible object <-> relational mapper. - metacpan.org ]
04:12 ribasushi ah it does not consider anything without an email or a url
04:12 ribasushi ok fair enough
04:12 ribasushi still... styling is problematic
06:17 tobyink ribasushi: on https://metacpan.org/release/Type-Tiny the contributor "Pierre Masci" has no e-mail address, but is still shown.
06:17 dipsy [ Type-Tiny-1.000004 - tiny, yet Moo(se)-compatible type constraint - metacpan.org ]

11:02 haarg ribasushi: that's a bug.  pretty sure i see the issue
11:02 haarg as far as general styling, not sure there's much to be done
11:03 haarg i may add to it to have it do additional email matching
11:03 ribasushi haarg: that'd be nice
11:03 ribasushi also non-wrapping would probably be a good idea

12:36 ribasushi haarg: what's the state of the version stuff?
12:36 ribasushi people seem unhappy about something but I can't figure out what
12:37 haarg well, mo wanted to keep underscores as tuple separators in 'normal' form versions
12:38 haarg the other people that have chimed in have mostly said we should stick to what we came up with in lyon, where _ is always just ignored
12:38 ribasushi ah I missed that bit
12:38 ribasushi <headdesk>
12:39 haarg underscores in numeric versions haven't been specifically addressed, which i'm much more concerned about

12:52 oalders haarg, ribasushi: i think we should merge the version stuff
12:53 ribasushi I don't have an opinion other than 1) it breaks cpanm --dev and 2) the current patch follows what we talked about in Lyon

12:53 ribasushi I don't understand mo's argument
12:53 oalders i don't either, to be honest
12:53 oalders and i don't see anyone else taking that position
12:54 ribasushi oalders: jfdi then? :)
12:54 oalders ribasushi: i think so.  i'm just waiting on a travis build to come back
12:54 ribasushi we can rollback if things go sideways - it's not a data-storage thing anyway
12:55 oalders well, a rollback would mean a full re-index
12:56 oalders but now that we have some extra machines that's not as much of a problem
12:56 ribasushi ah, I thought this only deals with how data is represented, not stored
12:56 * ribasushi only read the tests diff
12:57 haarg you need to be able to sort using the api, so it needs the numeric version stored there
12:58 ribasushi nod

17:57 ribasushi please let me know when the reindex is done and the changes are live
17:57 ribasushi I want to see if cpanm will automagically start working
17:59 ranguard we'e going to reindex on the new hardware and do the switch over after that - seem to remember it takes a couple of days!
18:00 oalders on our new hardware it should be < 1 day, i think

18:21 marcus joined #metacpan
18:21 ranguard oh cool :)
18:21 ribasushi ranguard: there's a separate issue of travis now running low on memory because they oversubscribe the openvzs, but the shitty downloads seem to have stopped
18:23 ranguard we've now got 2 servers on the backend with load balancing and auto fail over, so should be more reliable as well as a recent nginx
18:23 ranguard next step will be multi-datacenter load balancing and fail over
18:33 ranguard anyone familiar with cpan's dir structure ?
18:33 ranguard How can I improve (tell fastly to cache more) this: https://github.com/CPAN-API/metacpan-puppet/blob/master/modules/metacpan/templates/web/metacpan-cpan-static/fastly.erb ?
