12:07 ranguard kentnl: just delete it, I'm sure it'll be fine :)
12:08 kentnl just trying to get custom parameters into the search -> ????
12:09 kentnl https://metacpan.org/pod/MetaCPAN::Client#SEARCH-SPEC # Because they invented their own syntax for complex queries
12:10 ranguard sorry, I'm very shakey on my ES stuff
12:10 kentnl likewise, but thats why its extra annoying trying to dovetail what I know through this UI :/
12:11 dipsy [ MetaCPAN::Client - A comprehensive, DWIM-featured client to the MetaCPAN API - metacpan.org ]
12:11 ranguard I guess the MC::Client is trying to hide ES from $normal_users - but totally get what you mean
12:13 kentnl for instance, I'm trying to perform a nested query that returns a list of suitable Release objects, I have code I kinda can use with ES raw, but its ugly. But MCC is just painful in the opposite direction :/

12:15 andreea offtopic: I can see a module from the api(on localhost), but when I go to the metacpan web(still on localhost) the same module appears listed but when I click on it it's not found and this seems to happen with every other file
12:16 kentnl try a force refresh. Sometimes I get cached results that are wrong.
12:21 ranguard andreea: your MC on localhost defaults to using the LIVE api.metacpan.org - have you changed that?
12:22 ranguard https://github.com/CPAN-API/metacpan-web/blob/master/metacpan_web.conf - if you copy that to 'metacpan_web_local.conf' you can edit values in that as needed

14:12 andreea some pages, in particular every page I tried to see so far
14:14 oalders andreea: example URL?
14:20 andreea I will take this for example https://metacpan.org/pod/HTML::Restrict , in http://0.0.0.0:5000/module/HTML::Restrict it renders as is should be, but for http://localhost:5001/pod/HTML::Restrict I get "Error rendering POD for Restrict.pm - Not found"
14:21 andreea and this is happening for everthing else, I can see an user, I can see his releases, but when I try to actually see the content of a file I get a "Not found"

16:52 bricas oi.
16:52 rwstauner welcome
16:54 bricas so i understand there's interest in the cpan-changes stuff
16:55 rwstauner haarg has made some recent changes to make the parser more lax and cover a lot more cases we see on metacpan
16:55 bricas i can just transfer that to cpan-api as rwstauner has suggested to me...
16:55 rwstauner oalders: agree?
16:56 bricas is there any interest in the cpan-changes-web stuff?
16:57 rwstauner i did once but i doubt i'll get around to it

17:01 rwstauner sorry, i was on a conference call
17:01 bricas aight. une seconde.
17:01 rwstauner so we'd be happy to take that repo, and i'd say start with granting comaint to haarg since he's most likely to work on it soonest

17:26 bricas oh, err, fine print: Transfer this repo to another user or to an organization where you have admin rights.
17:27 bricas i can grant someone admin on this repo that has admin there, i guess?
17:28 rwstauner oh, that might work
17:28 bricas just added rwstauner, oalders and haarg
17:29 bricas maybe one of y'all can do it?
17:29 rwstauner i'll try it
17:29 haarg bricas: maybe just transfer the repo to me?
17:29 haarg i can put in cpan-api
17:29 haarg *then i
17:30 bricas let's see what rwstauner says first, if not, i'll move it to you.
17:30 rwstauner i don't see an admin button
17:30 rwstauner or settings
17:31 rwstauner nor does changing the url work
17:32 bricas okay! moving it to haarg...
17:32 rwstauner :-)
17:33 bricas haarg: ... you already have a fork of it that needs to go away before i can move it
17:33 haarg heh
17:34 haarg ok, we'll do this an easier way
17:34 haarg bricas: added you as an owner of cpan-api.  you should be able to accept the invite and move it directly to cpan-api.
17:35 bricas done.

17:54 bricas if any of y'all have any thoughts on the cpan-changes-web stuff, lemme know.
17:55 haarg is there a good reason to have it as a separate service rather than an additional cpants metric?
17:59 bricas it's very cpants-alike, except it isn't just pass/fail, but there could really be pass w/ warnings (does cpants do that already?)
17:59 bricas that's one of the things i've meant to implement but haven't gotten to
18:11 ether CPANTS has different classifications of metrics - the is_extra and is_experimental metrics are reported, but don't impact the total score
18:12 ether it would be pretty straightforward to wrap the check in a Module::CPANTS::Kwalitee:: module and then have charsbar install that module as another metric
18:14 bricas that sounds great
18:21 oalders bricas++
18:21 oalders thanks for taking care of that
18:23 bricas np
18:25 ether how difficult is it to update changes.cpanhq.org to run a newer CPAN::Changes?
18:33 bricas well, the issue was moving from straight-up pass/fail to pass/fail/warning
18:34 ether even treating a warning as a fail, but running the new version on the site, would be an improvement I think
18:40 bricas i have a bootstrap based theme done already
18:42 charsbar I personally like changes.cpanhq.org as is (as a separate site) but I also welcome if some of you write a Module::CPANTS::Kwalitee::(Changes maybe?), or I'll write one and include it in Module::CPANTS::Analyse.
18:43 charsbar if moving it to CPANTS is an option.
