03:11 haarg no

08:54 ranguard mohawk: think #toolchain might at least be able to help - but actual issues I think need to be emailed or opened against the github repo
08:57 mohawk ranguard, thanks
08:58 mohawk turns out, despite the unhelpful PAUSE message, i needed to give "provides" info in metadata
08:58 mohawk just as well i've read most of the PAUSE source code

16:04 autarch any idea why this link https://metacpan.org/release/File-LibMagic goes to 1.02 instead of 1.07?

16:05 haarg browser cache
16:08 autarch haarg: yep, you are correct
16:09 haarg there are some vague plans for what we want to do to fix that

17:44 gtodd was there at one time a link from each module on metacpan to its visual "map" on mapofcpan.org ?
17:44 gtodd or perhaps I was fooled by greasemonkey ...

21:29 Ralesk whee, had my first release on CPAN :)  but...
21:30 Ralesk I understood the perlpod doc about X<> as functioning something like the anchor in HTML -- you name it something, and then you link to it with L</blah>, right?
21:33 Ralesk kinda not what's happening to my rendered pods on metacpan (hence my babbling about this here)
21:42 haarg X<> doesn't create anchors
21:46 ether Ralesk: congratulations!
21:46 ether see 'perldoc perlpod' for details
21:46 Ralesk thanks :)
21:46 ether L</blah> requires blah to be a =headX iirc
21:46 Ralesk I have, but have apparently misunderstood what they meant by indexes
21:47 haarg =headX or =item
21:47 Ralesk yeah, I knew L<> picks up headings, but with only *roff output I had no idea what this would be reasonably rendered as on a decent website :)
21:49 trs presumably X<> _could_ create anchors in HTML output.
21:49 trs which might actually be useful
21:49 trs depending on how X<> is used in each doc
21:49 Ralesk https://metacpan.org/pod/Mojo::Reactor::Glib <-- here's my abuse of poddings
21:49 dipsy [ Mojo::Reactor::Glib - Glib::MainLoop backend for Mojo - metacpan.org ]
21:50 Ralesk I thought it would be nice to the reader to show the actual use of the method in the heading, while creating an easier-to-use anchor (in my case the method name)
22:00 trs Ralesk: nod. that makes sense.
22:01 trs if you run `perldoc -m perlfunc` you can grep for X< and see how X<> is used canonically to build a topic index.
22:07 Ralesk not too far from my use then, though not sure how I'd make use of those indexes (like, which output format would let me)
22:07 Ralesk okay, I can imagine info to do that but info is horrible and I'd rather not think about it at all :D
22:08 haarg even if X<> did create anchors, you shouldn't use that for internal links in your pod
22:17 Ralesk on another note, I seem to have two states in my metacpan account.  1) all social network services connected but PAUSE not 2) PAUSE is connected, everything else isn't
