20:04 ranguard mst: got any neat tricks for scping from leo@localhost -> root@remote, where I have leo@remove with sudo access, but the remote dir is 'root' only :) ?
20:04 * ranguard needs to do this to 6 machines
20:05 mst ranguard: passwordless sudo?
20:05 ranguard yea
20:06 vroom1 joined #metacpan
20:06 ranguard even better if it will do '-r' e.g. dirs get created
20:07 mst ranguard: rsync -avz -e ./foo
20:07 mst where ./foo is 'ssh $1 sudo bash' ?
20:08 dg if you use rsync it's easy, --rsync-path
20:08 mst oh, -e ssh then --rsync-path 'sudo rsync' ?
20:08 dg yeah
20:08 dg but -e ssh is the default
20:08 dg at least now
20:08 dg so just rsync --rsync-path="sudo rsync" whatever host:/root
20:08 dg or sometyhing
20:09 dg yup, that works
20:10 * ranguard has a go :)
20:11 ranguard NICE!
20:11 ranguard dg++
20:13 ranguard mst: thanks :)
20:13 ranguard this will make deploying MC private files a lot easier
21:31 * kentnl rather wishes there was always an RT link somewhere on a dist
21:31 kentnl 1) Authors invariably fuck up the links they make manually
21:32 kentnl 2) I have a dist with "1 issue" on it and no release I ever shipped had RT on it so I can't go fishing for the RT queue
21:33 kentnl ( It turns out it was a GH issue or something that I misplaced because it was a Pull, not an Issue, but I've seen in the past that number referring to things on RT )

21:40 * ranguard doesn't want an RT link on his modules as he doesn't like RT and wants all issues reported to GH... just to counter the argument :)
21:41 kentnl I likewise mostly agree. I also want all issues reported to GH as well. But trying to find the old RT queue prior to migration is a bit of a pain
21:41 mst go to metacpan, click the bugtracker link
21:42 jibsheet go to rt.cpan.org, click on "Search for distributions" in the first paragraph on the left
21:42 jibsheet it uses metacpan.org to autocomplete for you
21:42 jibsheet if you're logged in, there's already a Distributions -> My Distributions
21:44 kentnl That helps a bit. *me experiences momentary mental turmoil as he feels something like the search box is deleting characters I've typed*
