17:32 kentnl there's a new thing that can be done in FF 38+. There's a button in the URL bar called "reading view" which radically reformats the page, and helps curate a list of things to read later ( like bookmarks, but more queue ordered ).
17:32 kentnl https://imgur.com/Lxg5oWp
17:32 kentnl ^ just thought other metacpan users would like this.
17:33 * kentnl doesn't exactly grok how it works yet, and there's probably some scope for metacpan slightly improving the read for code parts

19:38 RenatoCRON the favorite is really strange, I can never get it working.
19:38 RenatoCRON I already logout, log-in via Facebook, connect with PAUSE, added some modules to fav. nothing.
19:38 RenatoCRON today I logout, login via Facebook, and, instead of connecting with pause, I just use
19:39 RenatoCRON the link on 'Profile', it sent an e-mail, when I open, it show me a json
19:39 RenatoCRON I refresh, and nothing connected. I did it again and then is showme a empty json
19:40 RenatoCRON and the profile works, but no favorites, I already verified the captcha too.
19:40 RenatoCRON I would like to debug it, there's a ready 'VM', I guess
19:40 * RenatoCRON will do it when I have time.
19:40 RenatoCRON but I want to known if is a 'known issue' or something
19:41 ranguard RenatoCRON: sort of, could you confirm you don't have cookies blocked on api.mc.org
19:42 ranguard but don't think it's been reproducable enough to lock down (looking at the tickets I've closed because no one has further details): https://github.com/CPAN-API/metacpan-web/search?q=login+json&type=Issues&utf8=%E2%9C%93
19:43 RenatoCRON ranguard, I will test it on firefox, where I don't have plugins like ad-block and do-not-track turned on
19:43 * ranguard is just guessing btw :)
19:47 RenatoCRON it's very odd do not have option to login via PAUSE, but a way to connect via pause after loggon
19:48 RenatoCRON because when you connect pause, the other one get disconnected
19:48 RenatoCRON I'm talking about: https://metacpan.org/account/identities
19:48 RenatoCRON but now that i'm logged with facebook, I will use https://metacpan.org/account/profile
19:48 RenatoCRON "In order to change your profile you have to connect your account to PAUSE. "
19:49 ranguard RenatoCRON: https://metacpan.org/about/faq#whycantilinkmypauseaccount
19:49 * ranguard is just pointing at possible issues, I don't know the code in detail I'm afraid
19:51 RenatoCRON ranguard, when you add a favorite, it appear in 'realtime' ?
19:51 ranguard should do AFAIK
19:52 RenatoCRON ranguard, so I guess is something about on the account.
19:52 ranguard you mean on your author page?
19:52 RenatoCRON yes, like https://metacpan.org/author/RENTOCRON
19:52 RenatoCRON I have added NET::Amazon::EC2 to favorite about a minute ago
19:52 ranguard yea, appeard instantly on mine
19:53 RenatoCRON well, so I guess is my account!
19:53 RenatoCRON I will debug it when I can
19:53 ranguard ++
19:53 RenatoCRON it very odd, on https://metacpan.org/account/favorite/list it continues to false
19:53 ranguard yell if you need help with the VM
19:53 ranguard 'false' ?
19:53 RenatoCRON and, the worst is, the I can ++ more than 1 time if I log-out and log-in! hahaha
19:54 RenatoCRON ranguard, sorry, continues empty!
19:54 ranguard FYI, I'm logged in via github and have my Pause account connected to that - nothing else
19:55 * ranguard isn't sure if that helps at all, does sound like your accounts are mixed up
19:55 RenatoCRON let me try github then
19:55 RenatoCRON I'm download VM, but i can't ~waste~ time on this until weekend
19:56 ranguard good to have the VM for all the other hacking you will 'waste' time with for us in the future though ;) :)
20:04 RenatoCRON ranguard, thank you. BTW, the real module I've favorite was Data::Printer !
20:04 RenatoCRON garu++
20:04 RenatoCRON and nuba++ for Data::Printer::Filter::JSON
20:05 ranguard RenatoCRON: you are of course using DDP?
20:05 ranguard use DDP; p $foo;  <--- :) :) :)
20:05 RenatoCRON yeah, I have it for ~ 2 years
20:05 RenatoCRON I use autokey
20:06 RenatoCRON and when i type "ddp" it do a use DDP; p <cursor>;
20:06 RenatoCRON very cool!
20:06 ranguard :)
20:06 RenatoCRON and the best is ~/.dataprinter
20:07 RenatoCRON with caller_info => 1, colored => 1, + filters [ 'DateTime', 'DB', 'JSON' ]. I personal y like use_prototypes => 0 too. good for "use DDP; p $something->foobar;"
20:08 ranguard woo, wasn't aware of that - nice

20:39 bjakubski How does one _build_ development VM by himself?
20:40 ranguard bjakubski: you mean rather than download it?
20:41 bjakubski yep, I'm curious how did it come into existence :-)
20:42 ranguard https://github.com/CPAN-API/metacpan-developer is the MetaCPAN VM instructions, I roughtly documented how I built it here: https://github.com/CPAN-API/metacpan-vagrant (probably a bit out of date now)
20:43 ranguard bjakubski: http://blog.codeboutique.com/post/creating-debian-squeeze-box-for-vagrant was my very initial start point if you don't care about the MetaCPAN details
20:43 ranguard but really just use a base VM of the OS of your choise and customise from there... then export
20:44 bjakubski metacpan-vagrant was what i needed I think
20:45 ranguard oh, and make sure all your setup is in puppet/chef/x/y/z - as ours is :)
20:45 ranguard for everything above the OS level
20:49 bjakubski you mention that it is a bit out of date - like described procedure might need some tweaks on recent debian?
20:49 bjakubski or it means something else?
20:50 ranguard we've been upgrading the VM we created, rather than rebuilding from scratch, Vagrant has upgraded quite a bit, so might work fine, or might be a bit different now
20:50 ranguard generally idea should be the same :)
20:58 bjakubski is there value in trying to update that procedure? I'm willing to have a go at that, as a way to get feet wet with vagrant/puppet/etc.
20:59 ranguard bjakubski: wonderful - yes please, a new VM from scratch would be great
20:59 ranguard debian stable
21:00 ranguard 7.8 to be exact
21:03 * ranguard heads to bed, but do ask questions on here or raise issues/pulls on the repo
21:03 bjakubski sure, thanks for information!
