01:29 grantm I notice that mousing over git repo links in side nav give me a message about API rate limits.
01:29 grantm Is this a known issue?
02:07 ether if you've been clicking around on metacpan a lot today, that's expected
02:07 ether the requests are client-side, so the rate limiting is specific to your IP (from what I recall)

02:11 grantm ether: I hadn't even stopped consider that the API requests might be going direct from my browser

02:12 grantm I haven't been clicking around on metacpan at all today
02:12 grantm pretty sure the warnings came up on the first page browsed

08:20 ribasushi is there an endpoint that will give me back the (preferrably gzippped) source of the *latest* version of a specific *module*?
08:20 ribasushi I know I can do that via several calls, I am asking if there is a way to get the contents of Foo::Bar.pm in one shot

13:33 oalders ribasushi: the API calls to source files don't involve elasticsearch. they just unarchive dists on demand
13:33 oalders so, there's no one call to do this, but it might be something worth adding to https://metacpan.org/pod/MetaCPAN::Helper

16:39 trs ribasushi: you mean https://api.metacpan.org/source/Foo::Bar ?
16:39 trs am I misunderstanding?
16:41 oalders that's what i understood he was asking for. not an unreasonable request :)

18:23 trs oalders: that URL works :)
18:23 oalders trs: i get a 404
18:24 trs well, you have to replace Foo::Bar with something that exists :)
18:24 oalders ah, i took it literally
18:24 trs so, strictly speaking, that URL doesn't work, but https://api.metacpan.org/source/Moose does
18:24 oalders wow, why did i not know that :)
18:24 trs this is the same endpoint that Pod::Cpandoc uses when you pass -m to view the module source instead of pod.
18:25 oalders ah
18:26 oalders i'm glad people are around to correct me

20:08 ranguard hmm, slowly - maybe need something needs kicking
20:08 ranguard oalders: ^^ ?
20:08 ranguard rwstauner: ^^ ?
20:08 ether *nod*, I failed to make the connection
20:08 oalders what needs to be kicked?
20:09 oalders watcher and rrr-client are running
20:09 ranguard haven't a clue, but cpan-rsync.perl.org has been down for about 12 hours, and https://metacpan.org/recent only has 3 entries in the last hour (since backup), I'm guessing it should have more?
20:09 oalders looks like last indexed dist was one minute ago
20:10 ranguard oh! - yea
20:11 ranguard ignore me then, must just be running slowly
20:11 oalders :)
