04:54 kentnl something odd is happeing with CHECKSUMS again. CPANM keeps having long ( like >30 second ) pauses performing --verify
04:55 kentnl huh?
04:56 kentnl and it spent a solid minute fetching Git-Raw, while I opened a second tab, downloaded it manually, and when I came back, the first was still going ...
04:58 kentnl uh. Weird. HTTP Request sent, waiting for response...
05:01 kentnl https://gist.github.com/kentfredric/8a83e5cec022625f5028 # Literally just sat there waiting for a response for 30 seconds before I pounded ^C and tried again :/
05:02 kentnl and I have since fetched the file a dozen times, and back on the tab that I noticed it on ...
05:02 kentnl its still waiting
05:02 kentnl oh, now its waiting on CHECKSUMS ... *sigh*
05:03 kentnl somethings squeezing the pipes
05:06 kentnl current ETA on a 200kb file: 20 minutes :|
05:09 kentnl current throughput average: 185 bytes per second.
05:39 kentnl https://gist.github.com/kentfredric/808fedd42f22320f1797 # Full dumps, two sequential runs, one took 1 second, the other took 22 minutes.

21:20 margeas hello ppl, anybody knows how the vagrant script mount the source folders locally while using the Vbox image? NFS?
21:23 genehack margeas: i think you're in the wrong channel with that question.
21:25 margeas I don't know vagrant that well but I've assumed that someone of the MetaCPAN devs have tailored the script, am I wrong?
21:27 trs margeas: vagrant uses different means depending on the host and guest, I believe.  VirtualBox, upon which vagrant is built, has a couple native ways to share folders, which may also be used.
21:27 trs why do you ask?
21:33 margeas well...basically I'm planning a setup which see me working on pc1 and the vm is running on pc2 (pcs are on local LAN), so I would proceed basically with a NFS share to mount the pc2 source trees on pc1, but I am trying to investigate the VM setup to see if it uses something different which could cause any troubles...
21:35 genehack margeas: oh, sorry, totally misparsed your question
21:36 margeas np
21:36 margeas ;)
21:46 trs margeas: you want to look at the vagrant docs.  nfs/smb may be an easy option.  if not, you can always configure the VM to mount NFS natively.
21:46 trs margeas: specifically, https://docs.vagrantup.com/v2/synced-folders/index.html.  note the various types on the left hand sidebar (NFS, SMB, RSync, VirtualBox)
21:47 margeas I don't see any NFS mount points relative to metacpan on the host(GNU/Linux), so I assume it is using the VirtualBox method
21:48 margeas oh...also rsync
21:48 margeas well, I probably should check that docs, thank you
21:48 margeas maybe also the VBox one to query for information from the cli
