14:12 oalders margeas: you should be able to tweak your Vagrantfile to use NFS
14:12 oalders you may find that to be a bit faster

14:16 margeas oalders: yes, actually I haven't any issues with the VM, but I plan to mount *that* folders onto another workstation with nfs...it shouldn't cause any  problems but before loosing data I was trying to understand how vagrant works on a GNU/Linux in respect to remote editing...

14:18 oalders sounds like a plan.  :) you may just want to start with the defaults and see how that goes first.  it should mostly "just work" out of the box and it shouldn't use a lot of disk space if you don't have too many modules to index
14:19 margeas oalders: I'm struggling with heat these days...really sound as a joke but it isn't...I am going to offload the vm on another workstation...
14:20 oalders ah, right
14:20 oalders do what you need to do so that your machine doesn't melt
14:21 margeas this should help...anyway regarding https://github.com/CPAN-API/cpan-api/issues/397 how do I distinguish beetween a removed distro and one it isn't?
14:24 oalders margeas: you would query the release endpoint and see if there's a release with the status of "latest"
14:24 oalders that would at least tell you if there's an authorized release still on CPAN
14:25 oalders for the author page, if that's not the case, then we shouldn't link to it under the favourites
14:26 oalders i'm not yet convinced we need to actually delete the data
14:27 oalders you may need to get set up with metacpan-web to fix that, but that's not a bad thing since we'll need you to have that set up as part of the ES upgrade

14:49 margeas I followed the metcpan-dev repo instructions and I already see a mcpan-web subtree...then I should be already set-up to start working, shouldn't I ?
14:52 margeas anyway..I am looking at that issue, as per your recommendation...but I think that working on it now would basically mean using the old API...and then upgrade the eventual script...

15:24 oalders margeas: the idea is just to get you familiar with the codebase, so this would be fixed using the current api
