14:12 n0body you know what would be cool, if we could sort results by number of plus's or age, as these are usually the things i use to decide which module i should use
14:16 ranguard n0body: yes, please send a pull request ;)
14:17 ranguard actually there is a overall 'improve search results' ticket - already somewhere that has lots of these sorts of things on it
14:18 ranguard https://github.com/CPAN-API/metacpan-web/issues/1231 - though maybe that's not quite the place
14:19 ranguard it has been raised before on an issue somewhere, hmm, not on the wishlist https://github.com/CPAN-API/cpan-api/wiki/Wishlist
14:20 ranguard maybe https://github.com/CPAN-API/cpan-api/issues/253 which had the start of a pull https://github.com/CPAN-API/cpan-api/pull/273
14:54 n0body i knew you were going to say that :(
14:55 ranguard n0body: sorry :)
15:07 oalders ribasushi: screen shot?

17:39 ether the Moo distribution is now the third match for a search on "moo" :/
17:42 mst https://metacpan.org/search?q=Moo&size=20&search_type=modules
17:42 mst first result for me
17:44 ether "moo", not "Moo"
18:35 oalders not sure what we're supposed to do there, actually.
18:35 oalders it's technically correct but in most cases probably not that helpful
18:41 mst when it comes to UX, technically correct is not the best sort of correct :)
18:42 oalders :)

20:26 jnap at some point you need a hard coded mapping for how we want certain matches to work, you can only tweak the algorithm so much
20:28 jnap I wonder how hard it would be to add a sort of 'adwords' style interface, such that cpan authors could spend credits (based on their contribution) to advert there stuff for certain types of searches....
20:37 oalders that's an interesting idea.  we already have https://github.com/CPAN-API/metacpan-web/pull/1533  we could tweak that to also show some interesting modules as well
20:45 ether there's already the keywords field in metadata, that isn't being used to assist searches.
20:48 oalders that's a good point
