22:17 marco hi! Doing modification to the metacpan-web sources, can I just reload the web page in my browser to see the mods effects or I should issue a git commit before, so that some hook will run? tnx
22:28 ether shift-reload ought to do it I think
22:41 marco ether: thanks...well nothign seems to change as I would expect, does ES employ any caching for its queries?
22:41 mst marco: hello, if you're modifying the code
22:41 mst how are you running the development server?
22:42 mst there is no commit required but you need to reload your code
22:42 marco mst: I've followed the README and set-up the VM...I'm pointing my browser to localhost:5001 now...
22:43 mst that's nice. how are you running the development server?
22:44 mst i.e. what command are you running to get :5001 up?
22:44 marco mhh..dunno...I've issued a vagrant up + vagrant provision and got a server replying at that ip and port...
22:45 marco I see a local catalyst app running against the official MCPAN api if I've understood right the default setup
22:45 mst the README tells you what to do.
22:46 mst sudo service starman_metacpan-web restart
22:49 jnap joined #metacpan
22:55 marco mst: still no changes...I'm reloading an http://localhost:5001/author/FIBO with this patch applied http://paste.scsys.co.uk/499956 and I shouldn't see backpan favorites...according to my understandings that is :) ... do ES cache by default queries?
22:58 marco from the ES docs: "The result of the filter is not cached by default. " ...
23:00 mst personally, I would test by firing the query directly from code
23:34 mst marco: you could always try just adding 'die "ARGH;' to the code and check it stops working at all
