13:12 oalders jdv79: you could always open an issue on github listing the requirements which haven't yet been met
13:12 oalders the handwaving is a bit hard to interpret ;)
15:10 jdv79 that would require such a list which has not been made yet

20:40 jdv79 I wrote the overview thing tonight
20:40 jdv79 http://jdv79.blogspot.com/2015/10/perl6-and-cpan.html
20:40 jdv79 i'll try to write up the metacpan specifics for y'all tomorrow but now i must to the pub
21:41 margeas Has metacpan-web some way to automatically reload upon source changes? I don't find the script/ subdir to use the dev server as documented in catalyst docs...
21:46 margeas https://metacpan.org/pod/distribution/Plack/script/plackup#r---reload ?
22:21 mst margeas: or use the Shotgun loader yeah
22:31 margeas mst: ? what are people developing on the *-web portion using? reloading at each change?
22:32 margeas I mean manually reloading at each change?
22:35 mst margeas: I'm not sure. my usual approach is to have starman or myapp_server.pl running in a terminal and hit Ctrl-C, up, enter when I've just changed something
22:35 mst but that's in general
22:35 mst reloaders and I don't get along
22:36 mst margeas: but for plack you have -r and https://metacpan.org/pod/Plack::Loader::Shotgun and http://p3rl.org/Plack::Middleware::Refresh
22:41 mst jdv79: maybe you could shed some light on how you've been developing stuff?
22:42 margeas thank you, actually I'm also searching for a "best-practice way" to reload code, as the only way to load the web app is by means of a starman service...now it seems that its author discourage the use of the -r option: https://metacpan.org/pod/distribution/Starman/script/starman#RELOADING-THE-APPLICATION
22:44 margeas so I guess I'd better write an alternative simple script to reload the code without using starman at all...related snippets/hints from web devs are more than appreaciated of course...
22:47 margeas mst: where do you find "myapp_server.pl" in the the metacpan-web subtree? I couldn't find it...
22:48 mst margeas: I think that's meant to be "don't use -r for deployment"
22:49 mst and I'm talking about catalyst apps in general
23:08 margeas brb
23:25 jdv79 mst: as in?
23:27 jdv79 anyway, beers, nite
