16:14 jdv79 just had a random thought.  the search api metacpan exposes is either partly or wholly ES's, right?
16:15 jdv79 if that's true are there any effort to fix/assist any clients out there.  or am i remembering that fact wrong.
16:17 jdv79 oh, the context i mean is across the ES upgrade.
16:35 oalders jdv79: most of the API is essentially read-only ES with some restrictions (like not allowing scripts)
16:35 oalders there's no effort right now to fix any clients
16:35 oalders once the beta is ready we'll publish the URL and we'll keep v0 and v1 running in tandem for some time
16:36 Grinnz_ hooray, versioned apis
16:36 oalders :)
16:36 oalders we've got maybe a handful of failing tests on the api as it stands, so it's quite promising
16:37 oalders i have no idea how long we'll run both APIs.  likely depends on how annoying it is to keep v0 online
16:49 jdv79 so both versions of ES will be running?
16:49 jdv79 yes, its ro but iirc there are changes in ES's query interface
16:51 ranguard jdv79: new version on completly new/seperate hareware
16:51 jdv79 so the v0 and v1 endpoints will both be on the new ES?
16:51 ranguard but yes some changes to interface that clients will need to update to when they switch
16:52 ranguard jdv79: oh and new domain for the bew api
16:52 jdv79 so v0 will not be the same as before so some breakage could happen
16:52 jdv79 that's all i was getting at
16:52 ranguard v0 will be exactly as it is now... no changes
16:52 jdv79 v0 will be talking to ES old or ES new on the backend?
16:53 ranguard just the user data will be frozen
16:53 ranguard ES old
16:53 jdv79 ah ok
16:54 ranguard we'll be importing to both... seperatly
16:54 * ranguard will write up a doc soon
16:54 jdv79 that's nice
16:55 ranguard lots of hardware/sponsors++

18:59 ether is it known that the issue count from RT is not showing up in the left sidebar?
19:01 alh Got an example? I see it
19:09 ether https://metacpan.org/release/File-ShareDir-Install
19:10 ether I force-reloaded the page but no change
19:10 oalders There's no "bugs" key for that dist: http://api.metacpan.org/distribution/File-ShareDir-Install
19:11 oalders so there's a bug somewhere. would be worth opening an issue for
19:11 ether ok!
19:12 oalders v1 has the same bug, but it does have river data https://api-v1.metacpan.org/distribution/File-ShareDir-Install
19:13 ether created https://github.com/CPAN-API/cpan-api/issues/475
19:13 oalders ether++
20:06 ranguard jdv79: https://github.com/CPAN-API/cpan-api/wiki/API---V1-announcement-and-migration-plan - something like that - NOT finalised :)
