11:24 karjala rjbs: doesn't www.perlmodules.net do something similar to that?
12:00 bpmedley joined #metacpan
12:04 karjala rjbs: maybe i can add a feature on perlmodules.net, if you require it
12:19 rjbs not sure, will check it out
12:20 rjbs it looks like it
12:20 rjbs it'd be keen if used metacpan favorites. are favorites in the api? will have to look later.
12:39 karjala it doesn't use metacpan favorites yet. i'll see if i can implement that.

17:13 trs rjbs: favorites are in the API: https://api.metacpan.org/v0/favorite/_search?q=user:vqRN0D7US6KaTwGp_biNmA
17:13 trs where the user id comes from something like https://api.metacpan.org/v0/author/_search?q=pauseid:TSIBLEY
17:20 rjbs thanks
17:22 trs I'd also point you at api-v1 except that favorites are divergent between v1.metacpan.org and metacpan.org.
17:23 rjbs heh
17:41 ranguard v1 will be deleted and replaced with production when we switch over
17:43 ranguard then the api would need to change to the new one, so if intergrating use fastapi.mc.org/v1/... as that will be the actual api long term - or make it easy to switch... MetaCPAN::Client might be if use
17:46 trs ranguard: does fastapi.metacpan.org/v1/ have the real, live, metacpan.org user data?
17:47 trs i.e. is the favorites data the same as api.metacpan.org/v0/ ?
17:50 dustinm joined #metacpan
18:02 ranguard trs: no, not until we switch it over to being production
18:02 ranguard the dists are indexed on both, but not the user data
18:16 ether the 'latest release' in the left sidebar on my author page no longer lists -TRIAL releases -- this seems to be a recent change
18:16 ether it is now listing the latest indexed release, not the absolute latest upload (B-Hooks-Parser-0.18-TRIAL)
18:22 ranguard reyjrar: So i that IO::Async / Mojo rsyslog -> ES thing... that you were going to do lastnight... is it on CPAN yet ;) ?

18:28 trs ranguard: nod. thanks for the info!

18:33 ranguard trs: in general I think we should point people to MetaCPAN::Client rather than raw API calls, but this isn't official policy or anything :)
18:42 trs ranguard: that's a reasonable default.  I'm still stuck in the mindset of using the API directly because it's easy to do from the browser.
18:49 trs my $favs = $metacpan->favorite({ user => $metacpan->author("TSIBLEY")->user }); say $_->distribution while $favs->next;
18:50 ranguard trs++
18:56 mickey trs++ indeed :)
19:39 Grinnz_ i tend to use the API directly just because i'm running async queries with Mojo::UserAgent for any HTTP
