19:06 Grinnz https://metacpan.org/pod/indirect throwing an error
19:18 mickey Grinnz: thanks, fixing.
20:09 ranguard SCO link: getting a couple of clicks: https://www.evernote.com/shard/s54/sh/100049d8-f423-4393-bc44-29eb05947be2/a5eb8755c27b9e108e36187cbb181fd0
20:10 Grinnz what link is that?
20:16 Grinnz oh, huh, in the upper right
20:16 Grinnz how'd you finagle that :)
20:18 mst years of him, me and a few other people actually being nice to gbarr while everybody else bitched
20:21 karjala From this page: https://metacpan.org/search?q=net%3A%3Anetmask I'm getting an error when I click on the title of the first search result
20:21 karjala Net::Netmask
20:22 karjala (en) Please come back later
20:22 karjala this is what i get
20:22 Grinnz looks like same server error as for indirect
20:23 Grinnz btw maybe the server error page should actually say "server error" somewhere :P

20:27 oalders ranguard: nice
20:27 autarch https://metacpan.org/pod/Storable causes the site to crash - very weird
20:27 autarch as does https://metacpan.org/release/Storable
20:28 oalders mickey: same error? ^^
20:28 mickey oalders: yes
20:28 autarch ah, just joined the channel, sorry for any noise
20:28 mickey I just opened a PR to fix it
20:29 oalders how did this just start happening now?
20:31 mickey the breakage is from the contributors grooming code... i guess it's sensitive to the data it's fed
20:32 mickey this is the last query that's generated in js... I already discussed it with haarg a few weeks ago and started working on a new endpoint to move it to the api
20:33 oalders i'm happy to merge as soon as we get the first Travis pass
20:33 mickey cool
20:36 oalders ah, i'll have to wait for all of the lights.  our merge button is is disabled

21:59 Grinnz mickey: how does MetaCPAN::Client handle connection or HTTP errors? I can't find this in the docs
22:01 Grinnz also what does e.g. ->release return if there's no match?
22:28 Grinnz query i was using on the old api doesn't seem to work on v1, https://perlbot.pl/pastebin/peuds1
22:28 Grinnz the nested object release.dependency still seems to be there, not sure if i need to change the query syntax
22:29 Grinnz nested objects is one thing i haven't touched in my own ES instance yet...
22:35 mickey Grinnz: the HTTP requests are delegated to the ua (which you can also provide, default is HTTP::Tiny)
22:36 mickey drop the 'release.' prefix from your terms - that should fix your queries
22:36 Grinnz yes, but what does MetaCPAN::Client do when HTTP::Tiny gives it an error response
22:37 Grinnz either HTTP error code, or code 599 (HTTP::Tiny uses that for connection errors)
22:37 Grinnz and thanks, will try
22:37 mickey atm, the delegated call is not wrapped with anything... i should look into that
22:37 mickey will you please open an issue?
22:37 Grinnz sure
22:37 mickey thanks
22:39 Grinnz ah, dropping all of release. and dependency. prefixes worked, thanks
22:39 Grinnz i guess that was an elasticsearch 2 change?
22:39 mickey hmm... not sure the 'dependency.' prefix should be dropped
22:40 mickey yeah, that's ES syntax
22:41 Grinnz you're right, dependency prefix is still needed for the nested object
22:41 mickey I also see from your error that you're using an old version of the client... it's using Search::Elasticsearch :)
22:41 Grinnz no idea what i had installed here tbh
22:42 Grinnz updating the client was next :P
22:42 mickey cool
22:42 Grinnz hmm. it is up to date
22:44 mickey ah, that was a server error... no worries then
22:45 Grinnz yeah, Search::Elasticsearch isn't installed here
22:45 mickey yeah, just misread it, i got the same
22:46 mickey was just surprised since the client doesn't use it
22:48 Grinnz does MetaCPAN::Client query the url https://fastapi.metacpan.org ? want to know what to have Test::RequiresInternet ping
22:49 mickey yes, that's its default url
22:50 mickey actually, that's just the fallback, we read the production url from https://clientinfo.metacpan.org
22:51 Grinnz ah ok, i'll just have it ping that
