23:32 * rjbs is learning more Scala (to see how he likes Coursera)
23:33 doy that course seems to be quite popular
23:34 rjbs I get the impression that however they've had me set up the build environment is not the best way.  But whatevs.
23:35 * doy just uses vim + sbt
23:35 rjbs running sbt downloaded "everything and then some" when I tried looking at the example project
23:35 rjbs and I'm guessing it will do that again on the next project
23:36 doy well, it only needs to do the downloading part once, the downloads get cached in your home directory
23:36 rjbs oh, I see, they're not cached per-proj
23:36 rjbs coursework interrupted so I can read someone a Batman comic
23:36 doy (:
23:49 perigrin the someone I have that someone's age ... he and I curled up and watched the first two episodes of Batman Beyond this morning
23:49 rjbs Terry++
23:49 perigrin Batman Beyond holds up really well.
23:50 perigrin TAS isn't on Netflix (though a lot of Timm-verse has made it recently)
23:51 * rjbs has it all on DVD.
23:51 rjbs We're on JL and X-Men now.
23:51 perigrin I gave the girl Preludes and Nocturnes last night
23:51 perigrin after she discovered that I had Teen Titan trade paperbacks and started pillaging
23:53 perigrin rjbs: if you get a chance, Transformers Prime is really well written.
23:54 perigrin It's by the same writers as the live action movies ... but they don't have to dumb it down for Bay.
23:56 rjbs perigrin: the Batman Beyond comics are good, too, especially (surprisingly) Hush Beyond
23:57 * perigrin makes a note to chase those down
23:58 rjbs they're not all great, but not bad.  also, there is a new run of them, and JL beyond and Superman beyond; haven't tried those yet
23:58 rjbs comic done, back to scala
23:58 rjbs Eclipse clearly needs OS X "full screen mode"
