08:50 crab does anyone have an example of a mojo test suite that tests a non-trivial application? (login/logout etc too)
08:58 yko crab: what the problem? post_form_ok and then check html output, headers, etc
08:59 koban and what about testing app with DB?
09:00 yko koban: usually i have TestEnv.pm module that prepares test DB with dummy data
09:00 yko i also use same functional toinit db structure for production app, so it's quite useful

10:43 sri crab: are you using latest 1.02?
10:44 crab i'm using the latest cpan release.
10:44 sri always try master before hunting bugs

10:45 moritz aren't missing templates internal errors?
10:45 ok22 left #mojo
10:46 sri it's a little more complicated due to auto rendering
10:46 crab but why does it look for that template? is that some bug, or do i misunderstand when it looks for templates?
10:46 crab is auto rendering the thing that makes foo#bar use templates/foo/bar.html.ep?

11:26 crab that one doesn't have a trailing slash
11:26 sri Christian: what?

11:28 Christian without a trailing slash it is the same problem
11:29 Christian ok i must read all the changes to find my mistake
11:29 crab what, exactly, is the problem?
11:29 sri what crab said
11:29 Christian my routes doesn't work after a update
11:29 sri more specific
11:29 Christian only this one: $r->route(':controller/')->to('core#welcome', id => 1);
11:29 sri doesn't work is not a description
11:29 sri purl: doesn't work?
11:29 purl Look buddy, doesn't work is a strong statement. Does it sit on the couch all day? Is it making faces at you? Does it want more money? Is it sleeping with your girlfriend? Please be specific!
11:30 Christian my boss make an update and now my routes are hanging in the appplication script
11:32 crab sri: fyi my code was calling ->render_text(..., format => 'txt') and then later ->render(template => ...) because i forgot a return. i guess format => 'txt' was in the stash.
11:33 sri Christian: i'm going to need a test case then i'm afraid
11:34 sri this is what i meant when i said there are always unexpected side effects yesterday ;p
11:34 sri someone will always do something undocumented or weird, and stuff breaks when you optimize

12:46 sri wonder if we should revert the automatic route name change
12:47 sri it is damn neat, but not without risks
12:48 sri halp!
12:48 marcus mmm
12:48 marcus I really like it, but I think it might be the wise choice.
12:48 marcus maybe put it in a branch, and postpone it for 1.1?
12:48 sri don't think it could be brought back later
12:49 sri now that we have shortcuts more code will depend on the behavior
12:49 marcus hmm
12:49 marcus any way we can make it less risky`
12:50 marcus this would be tied to the 404 behaviour as well ?
12:50 sri not sure
12:50 sri 404 from the ep renderer could be considered a bug
12:51 crab what are the risks?
12:51 purl the risks are too high for the rest
12:52 crab i agree with marcus (and you): when i saw it, i thought it was very neat. (and i'm already using it :-)
12:53 sri the risks are breaking apps as usual
12:53 sri they are actually quite small, but exist
12:54 sri get '/foo'; get '/bar' => 'foo';
12:54 sri now the first route would get the name "foo"
12:55 kaare joined #mojo
12:55 sri so a url_for 'foo' would produce /foo
12:56 sri before it did /bar
12:56 marcus hmm
12:56 marcus so implicit names get priority over specific ones now?
12:56 marcus that is not great
12:56 sri i don't see a way to implement weighting
12:56 marcus guess it's only based on definition order?
12:56 crab yes.

20:57 sri Akron: that would be a big surprise considering that there are test cases that pass
20:57 Akron In FCGI-mode?
20:58 sri what is different in that environment?
20:58 Akron It works with the built-in server - but I was surprised when I tested it on my production environment ... / I don't know - I think the only difference is FCGI vs. built-in server.
20:59 sri there should be no relation whatsoever
20:59 Akron Hmm ... any idea, what the problem then could cause?
20:59 sri nope
21:00 Akron Okay ... Investigations will go on then ...
21:02 sri https://github.com/ojii/django-classy-tags # oh look, django people have discovered tag helpers too
21:14 dekimsey1 Sri, the commit the other day that decoupled M::R::Match from the controller object changed how url_for returned urls. Specifically, when the code was refactored a couple lines were dropped that manipulated the new url's base path.
21:15 sri dekimsey1: not really, should have just changed internally
21:17 yegor joined #mojo
21:18 dekimsey1 Well, before it'd copy the information in $base->path->parts (which is derived from $req->url->base)  into the new object. Now it does not. I noticed the change because we use a hook that sets the request's base path to the base url for the application. After pulling in the recent change all the urls broke.
21:19 sri it still clones the base

21:27 dekimsey1 Hrm, okay. I was partially wrong commit 294baa is the one that removes the path copying. It is the previous commit. Let me get back to you on it
21:27 sri perhaps a test case would be a good idea
21:28 dekimsey1 Yeah, I have one. Just not sure if it is exactly correct. The fact that I got the commit wrong makes me want to re-evaluate it to be certain.
21:28 sri sure

21:32 ato Trying to install Mojolicious with the one-liner on the homepage yields this: https://gist.github.com/808483
21:32 ato Known?
21:32 purl Known is good
21:33 sri nope, works just fine here
21:34 mikegrb I had that issue!
21:34 sri the downloader cpanm uses most likely fails on your box
21:34 ato Is there a minimum Perl version required?
21:34 ato Oh.
21:35 ato This one-liner from the wiki apparently worked: ●  sudo -s 'curl -L cpanmin.us | perl - Mojolicious'
21:35 mikegrb there was something weird about github redirections or somesuch
21:35 sri maybe some cpanm downloaders don't follow redirects
21:36 mikegrb ERROR: certificate common name “*.github.com” doesn’t match requested host name “github.com”.
21:36 sri interesting
21:36 mikegrb that was the issue I had, but not for cpanm
21:37 sri i guess the wiki oneliner is more foolproof
21:38 mikegrb that or use https://www.github.com/kraih/mojo/tarball/master for the redirect target so the wildcard cert matches
21:41 Akron sri: Okay - it's not fastcgi. But for the moment I have no clue, what it is ... thanks so far. :)
21:43 mikegrb yeah, http://latest.mojolicio.us ->  http://github.com/kraih/mojo/tarball/master -> https://github.com/kraih/mojo/tarball/master (which fails) -> some more redirects

21:44 ato https://github.com/kraih/mojo/wiki/Installation <- This should probably say mojo generate app HelloWorld instead?
21:44 ato It complains when I try to enter hello_world.
21:45 sri yes it should
21:46 sri feel free to fix, it's a wiki ;)
21:46 ato Also script/hello_world doesn't work unless I supply an argument.
21:47 ato Sure, but I haven't even gotten Mojolicious running yet. d-:
21:47 sri script/hello_world will surely show you teh available options
21:48 sri but yea, the wiki page is wrong
21:48 sri script/hello_world daemon would be the right move

21:48 ato Oh, right.
21:49 sri the wiki is mostly an incubator for new documentation, contributions are very welcome
21:51 sri mikegrb: changed the redirect too
21:51 mikegrb <3
21:51 sri :)
21:53 sri the whole https redirect made things a little annoying

23:37 l_almaraz i am giving mojo a try from a catalyst world.. are there any examples of using mojo with dbix-class?
23:40 sri nothing special about it, you just use it
23:41 l_almaraz is it the recommended way for mojo ?
23:41 sri there's prolly an example on github somewhere, but i don't have a link atm
23:41 l_almaraz also what advantage would mojo have over catalyst, briefly? much more lightweight i gather
23:41 sri recommended way to do what?
23:43 l_almaraz an ORM
23:43 sri if you already know catalyst a quick look at the feature list on http://mojolicio.us should give you a good overview
23:44 sri mojolicious has no model layer, so you just use whatever you like
23:45 l_almaraz much quicker to jump in than catalyst too i feel and has a ruby-esque feel
23:46 Alias joined #mojo
23:47 l_almaraz one more thing - there is absolutely no debug information when i run ./script/my_app daemon --reload  ?
23:49 sri see log file
23:49 sri may i suggest starting with a lite app and following the Mojolicious::Lite tutorial?
23:49 l_almaraz ahh yes sorry...yes i will do so
23:50 sri much easier that way :)
23:51 l_almaraz this is just what i was looking for; catalyst is too big and bloated for me, this should get a simple page going in no time
23:51 l_almaraz was gonna take a look at RoR but this seems to fill my needs
