01:28 sri s0va++
01:28 sri s0va: if there's something in the api documentation missing please send patches :)
01:29 s0va sri: i was very negatively suprised when i found out tonight that connect() doesn't require on_read, on_hup and on_error cbs...
01:29 s0va and that mojo::client supplies only on_connect
01:29 sri ah yea, that has historic reasons :/
01:31 s0va i guess this has something to do with "omfg, what was i doing?"
01:31 sri indeed
01:32 s0va funny thing is, that mojo client now works with http and https, but some mojo tests fail :)
01:32 s0va but i will make it work...
01:32 sri \o/
01:32 s0va ... but i have some questions
01:33 s0va if client drops connection while loop is writing
01:33 s0va does that event trigger on_error and on_hup or just on_hup?
01:33 s0va if connection is idle, only on_hup should be called, huh?
01:33 sri the handle is protected in ioloop until the buffer is empty or a timeout occurs
01:34 sri later i think it was a hup
01:34 grim_fandango joined #mojo
01:34 sri once the handle is not protected anymore
01:35 s0va ioloop_tls.t test fails becouse i don't know when to trigger hup :)
01:35 sri hup has grown over time into the general purpose close event
01:35 s0va it's getting frustrating... yeah, i was looking in the original code, it looks so easy...
01:36 s0va oh :)
01:36 s0va good to know :)
01:38 s0va so, hup is triggered when: a) connection timeout occours and b) something bad happens on wire
01:38 s0va does case a also invoke on_error?
01:38 s0va what about case b?
01:39 sri i think we trigger hup whenever a connection gets dropped for whatever reason
01:39 sri even after error
01:40 s0va hm, it would be safe to always trigger error first, then hup?
01:40 sri think so
01:41 s0va ah.
01:41 s0va time for bed.
01:41 s0va good night.
01:41 s0va oh, btw...
01:41 s0va remember that daemon's [ $self->listen ]?
01:41 * sri starts looking for the reason client still sets those events after connect
01:42 sri i don't know what you mean
01:43 sri ooh
01:43 sri custom connections of course
01:43 s0va yeah.
01:43 s0va ./bin/lite2.pm daemon_anyevent --listen http://localhost:3001
01:43 sri we allow people to prepare their own connections and pass their id in the ioloop with the transaction
01:43 s0va Can't use string ("http://localhost:3001") as an ARRAY ref while "strict refs" in use at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.12.1/Mojo/Server/Daemon.pm line 63.
01:44 s0va this happens only with anyevent ioloop
01:44 sri your command is wrong i think
01:44 sri 'listen=s'    => \@listen,
01:45 sri we allow --listen http://*:3000 --listen http://*:4000
01:45 s0va but i only subclass your class: https://github.com/bfg/anyevent-mojolicious/blob/master/lib/Mojo/Server/DaemonAnyevent.pm, https://github.com/bfg/anyevent-mojolicious/blob/master/lib/Mojo/Command/DaemonAnyevent.pm
01:45 sri ok, now i'm confused :)
01:46 sri i would expect it to work
01:46 s0va the only reason, that those two classes are there is to load anyevent::mojolicious::ioloop which removes mojo::ioloop (if it's already loaded) and replaces it with ae mockup.
01:47 s0va guess what: ./bin/lite2.pm daemon --listen http://localhost:3001 works :)
01:47 sri weird
01:47 s0va yep.
01:48 s0va but this is not big problem right now :) maybe it has something to do with forced class unloading... i tried unload sub from Class::Unload and some really weird stuff happens when i try to use it.

11:00 cstamas joined #mojo
11:00 cstamas hi
11:00 purl salut, cstamas.
11:00 cstamas I am doing sthing wrong and need help
11:01 cstamas I am doing a db query
11:01 cstamas my $aref = $sth->fetchall_arrayref;
11:01 cstamas how can I pass that thing to render() ?
11:02 moritz render(..., things => $aref)
11:02 moritz and then in the template you can iterate over @$things
11:02 cstamas If I say $self->stash(data => $aref); then all I get back from the webpage is ARRAY(0x1918b48)
11:04 cstamas moritz: it is the same if I pass directly to render
11:04 moritz cstamas: you're probably trying to stringify $data directly
11:04 moritz cstamas: don't do that. Iterate over @$data
11:04 moritz cstamas: oh and by the way, 'data' is a terrible name. It tells nothing.
11:04 moritz everything in the computer is a datum or data
11:05 cstamas moritz: I do not even touch this variable
11:05 moritz cstamas: why do you pass it to render() if you don't use it?
11:05 cstamas it is not used in the template
11:05 moritz and where does the ARRAY(0x1918b48) come from?
11:05 moritz anyway, please show some code
11:05 cstamas oks...
11:11 cstamas here http://pastebin.com/PCQhAfWK
11:13 moritz looks sane, don't know where an ARRAY would come from
11:13 cstamas If I remove ", data => $aref " then the template renders correctly
11:13 moritz and I currently don't have access to a computer with mojo installed :(
11:14 cstamas i do not want to go back to cgi::app :-/
11:15 moritz I'm not familiar witht he TT renderer... does it matter if you change 'data' to something else (different name)? what about if you actually use that variable?
11:15 cstamas i try that

11:17 moritz as I said, 'data' is a terrible name :-)
11:17 cstamas as it works the same with ep
11:17 cstamas :))
11:17 cstamas thx
11:17 moritz you're welcome
11:18 cstamas (I would clean up the name later it was just a prototype)

11:18 cstamas url?
11:18 moritz quelology.org (nothing up there yet)
11:18 moritz it's about identifying sequels and prequels of books
11:19 cstamas Modern Perl comes to my mind
11:19 moritz not yet sure where to host it
11:19 cstamas some cheap vps?
11:20 moritz maybe

19:00 elb0w which
19:01 elb0w the whole app?
19:01 purl the whole app is running in the parent
19:01 elb0w im confused
19:01 purl im confused are you saying i dont have a clue? about what?
19:01 elb0w thats cute
19:01 elb0w lol
19:01 elb0w im confused
19:01 purl im confused are you saying i dont have a clue? about what?
19:01 elb0w purl++
19:01 sri purl: forget the whole app
19:01 purl sri: I forgot whole app
19:02 elb0w sri, you were speaking to me?
19:02 sri yes
19:03 elb0w ok, I will have to swap the geo location to use a perl module. Im currently using a com source
19:03 elb0w would be just as good
19:03 sri indeed
19:05 elb0w So what do you want a tut?
19:05 kaare_ joined #mojo
19:05 sri ideally :)
19:06 sri geo apps are a hot topic, so i would also be happy with a new fun example app on github
19:07 elb0w sure, little hard to do at work right now. Ill write something up when I get home

19:57 minimalist Best open source geo location database: http://www.ipinfodb.com/index.php
19:59 elb0w except im in new york city
19:59 elb0w and it says im in washington
19:59 minimalist what's your IP?
19:59 elb0w 38.112.182.36
20:00 elb0w http://dev.elbowrage.com/gui/whereis/38.112.182.36
20:00 elb0w much closer
20:01 minimalist which geo service do you use?
20:01 elb0w its a commercial one
20:01 minimalist maxmind?
20:02 elb0w they actually have bad security and im using a back door
20:02 elb0w "strictly testing purposes"
20:02 elb0w :o
20:03 elb0w its actually
20:03 elb0w theres a malware that goes around
20:03 elb0w and creates a geo-location
20:03 elb0w and reports back to this db
20:03 minimalist wow
20:04 elb0w ya its pretty lame
20:04 elb0w but a good find on my end haha
20:04 minimalist that's a little too blackhat to be used in a real production
20:04 elb0w yeah
20:04 elb0w Its merely personal use
20:04 minimalist it shows my location to the street
20:05 elb0w it id?

20:05 elb0w http://dev.elbowrage.com/util/whereami
20:06 minimalist yes, it shows the correct zip and the marker is on my street in north hollywood.
20:06 elb0w lol
20:07 elb0w better install malware bytes
20:08 elb0w whats scary is you can turn lat/long to a street address using google
20:08 elb0w so technically if you can ever 100% map an ip to an adress you can reverse looking a ton of information
20:08 minimalist malware can kiss my ass
20:08 minimalist arch linux
20:08 purl i think arch linux is not as cool as demi linux.
20:08 elb0w demi linux
20:09 elb0w !
20:09 elb0w im confused
20:09 purl im confused are you saying i dont have a clue? about what?

21:54 mmmpork i have a question about xml posts
21:54 mmmpork i'm attempting to post xml data to a route and it's not getting picked up by body_params
21:55 mmmpork i saw the google groups thread about using a client to perform a get request on a url that returns xml, but i'm actually trying to post to mojo
21:56 sri that's basic http
21:56 sri why would you send xml urlencoded?
21:57 mmmpork it's not me, it's a service that requires a postback url to send their xml
21:57 mmmpork i mean i know how to access content using LWP but i'm not sure how to do that in mojolicious
21:58 sri you said body_params
21:58 sri that's parsed formdata content
21:58 mmmpork ah right, sorry for the confusion
21:58 sri $self->req->body is the raw body
22:00 mmmpork ah ok
22:00 mmmpork i guess that's what i was asking :)
22:00 mmmpork been using mojolicious for about a week now and still figuring things out :)
22:00 sri :)
22:01 mmmpork i was trying "content" instead of body
22:03 mmmpork btw i'm loving mojolicious. i tried to get into catalyst but felt it was so much overhead.
22:03 mmmpork barely knowing the framework i've been able to pound out 2 different prototypes for 2 different applications.
22:03 moritz is there some magic by which I can make the first argument to link_to HTML-escape?
22:04 mmmpork and everytime i get stuck it's because i'm expecting a more complicated answer hehe
22:04 moritz I can see the reason for it not being HTML-escaped, but I just created an XSS hole that way :(
22:13 sri hmm

22:27 mmmpork yeah i've played around with it a little, i'm still deciding :)
