04:46 crab if i have a package that inherits from Mojolicious, can i just $app = $pkg->new; and use that $app for e.g. ->detour()?
04:47 crab or does the combination of myapp.pl and Mojolicious::Commands->start and Mojo::Server::load_app do some other magic that i really need?

07:46 DaTa n
07:46 nicolasbd n?
07:46 purl n is load runner with a physics engine, robots, and ninjas or for Neville who died of ennui
07:48 DaTa nicolasbd: was just writing into the wrong window, some program asked my something I said "no" :)
07:52 nicolasbd DaTa: haha, ok ..
07:52 nicolasbd DaTa: and purl is a bot ? cool answer
07:53 nicolasbd n
07:53 DaTa purl?
07:53 purl DaTa?
07:53 DaTa purl: are you bot?
07:53 purl wish i knew, data
07:53 nicolasbd haha
07:54 nicolasbd damn' .. it's either a bot, or someone who writes like a bot ! We'll never know now !
07:55 nicolasbd purl: are you human ?
07:55 purl no idea, nicolasbd
07:55 nicolasbd ok, it's a bot
07:55 nicolasbd no human writes so fast
07:56 nicolasbd purl: v
07:56 purl i heard v was the only bad one. or the symbol for "or", because of "vel" or the best SF ever or a fine Thomas Pynchon novel or a Pynchon novel. or a very handy module from abe to show module versions: perl -MV=Tk or at http://www.test-smoke.org/download/V-0.11.tar.gz or http://xrl.us/3kpf or for Vendetta or for the comics not the crappy shitty movie ! or a "Bad Remake Of The Original"(TM)
07:58 nicolasbd DaTa: maybe you'll know : how should i launch a mojolicious cgi app ?
07:59 nicolasbd DaTa: do I need an extra server or something ? when i call the file from my browser, it just displays its content (and I guess it's normal) .. i have no idea how to do that
07:59 nicolasbd always used http daemons
08:00 DaTa nicolasbd: you need a cgi capable web server, like apache or lighttpd
08:01 nicolasbd DaTa: ok, thanks
08:01 nicolasbd DaTa: but I thought mojolicious could run a server on its own .. like with morbo or "daemon" option
08:01 DaTa nicolasbd: yeah, but that's not CGI
08:03 DaTa nicolasbd: why do you want CGI? it seems you don't even know what CGI is
08:04 nicolasbd DaTa: haha .. exact. I understand it's like running a script/app from the browser. I want to embed an existing perl cgi app in a Mojolicious cgi script
08:04 nicolasbd (my boss said so)
08:04 nicolasbd but i thought it would be like "morbo myApp"
08:04 nicolasbd guess it's not
08:05 DaTa CGI?
08:05 purl i guess CGI is Common Gateway Interface or Computer Generated Image
08:05 nicolasbd yes
08:06 DaTa nicolasbd: well it's just an ancient method to generate dynamic content, a request arrives on a webserver, the webserver has a cgi handler for the request uri, and executes (fork & exec) that script and delivers it's output to the browser
08:08 nicolasbd DaTa: ok .. i just found some infos to use Wamp with CGI Perl scripts, i'll try that

19:48 Akron Is there a reason that Mojo removed all __END__ from code? I think I missed this change and now I'm curious regarding the reason.
19:49 sri Akron: why keep it?
19:50 sri grrr
19:50 sri EV of course doesn't build with perl 5.16
19:51 Akron The Perl compiler stops processing files at this point. So in case of long documentation this can be relevant.
19:51 sri Akron: define relevant
19:51 sri is it actually measurable?
19:52 Akron Relevant regarding loading time in case of, e.g., CGI. I tested it only with artificial sizes. But I guess that this is something like a perl best practice.
19:52 sri Akron: i've looked through popular distributions and it doesn't look that way
19:54 sri if it's just a micro optimization i always go with what looks better
19:54 Akron I was wondering if Perl even loads the complete file and then process it - and it doesn't. That's why I asked. I always used __END__. In fact I like __END__ and =pod better than just starting with =head1.
19:56 Akron It's definitely just a micro optimization. But you started using __END__ and I was curious regarding the switch.
19:56 sri i change my style all the time
19:57 sri switched from qw// and qq// to qw() and qq{}
19:57 sri just last week
19:57 Akron Okay - so no reason other than Style.

20:32 xaka sri: does UserAgent support EventSource? is it possible to add such support? i have the server that sends data using EventSource so would be cool to wait for them in async way

21:31 tempire wat
21:31 tempire qq{} looks horrible
21:31 tempire qw/ sri /
21:32 nordicdyno joined #mojo
21:32 sri tempire: i actually like it :o
21:33 sri qq{} does not look that much different from a hash key
21:34 * sri likes qw() qq{} and qr//
21:36 sri in perl6 qw(foo bar) can actually look like <foo bar>
21:42 espent joined #mojo
21:43 tempire I never use qq
21:43 tempire only qw and qr
21:43 sri i use it rarely
21:44 sri often qq[] instead of qq{} though :o
21:44 sri https://github.com/kraih/mojo/blob/master/lib/Mojolicious.pm#L46
21:45 tempire why not just " " ?
21:45 tempire anything more than style?
21:46 sri style is everything
21:46 sri in this case... i have no idea :o
21:46 tempire no argument on that.
21:46 tempire I overuse maps and greps for the mantle of style
