09:22 x86 is this chan for mojolicious?
09:24 daxim 't is.
09:24 x86 awesomesauce
09:25 daxim it helps to read the /topic
09:25 x86 so I'm kinda new to mojolicious, and doing my first web app with Mojolicious::Lite...
09:25 x86 topic is undef;
09:26 x86 when I pull dynamic content from a DB, and try to stuff it into my template, it escapes the HTML and ends up rendering the raw HTML
09:26 x86 is there a way to disable this behavior?
09:27 x86 http://x86guns.us:3000/custom/ar15/300blk/ <-- for example
09:27 niczero x86: have you read the renering guide?
09:28 niczero ^rendering
09:28 espen joined #mojo
09:28 x86 I have
09:30 x86 http://mojolicio.us/perldoc/Mojolicious/Guides/Rendering
09:30 x86 I'm putting my HTML-riddled content into a stash() variable
09:31 x86 then just calling render()
09:34 x86 I don't see anything specific about not escaping html in the render()
09:36 x86 <%= Perl expression, replaced with XML escaped result %>
09:36 x86 <%== Perl expression, replaced with result %>
09:36 x86 myah... think that answers me question :)
09:37 x86 don't know why I didn't see that gem before... thanks :)

10:26 batman i'm not used to autocomplete on closing brackets, parentheses and such... any suggestions on how to make that work even better?
10:26 batman like can "jump" out of ("foo") to end of line easily?
10:27 batman and also, is there any perl-related plugins i must have?
10:27 Akron joined #mojo
10:30 Akron x86: If you have not full control of your templates (working with a designer or something), but always wanted to render your data unescaped, you can also stuff it into a Mojo::ByteStream object. M::BS is never escaped. A great feature!

10:53 * sri wonders if Akron follows the channel via log :)
10:54 sri batman: once you got used to autoclosing you'll really miss it when it's not there
10:58 sri Akron: it's a lot easier to idle with a bouncer like znc
11:01 batman sri: ok... i will try to trust you on that one :)
11:01 batman i tried to install autosemicolon... it worked yesterday, but not today :S
11:04 sri autosemicolon sounds like a bad idea
11:04 sri for (;;) {}
11:11 batman depends on how frequent each occur...
11:11 batman another thing: is there a shortcut to close the console?
11:12 batman like after building a project, i would like to close the console in the bottom
11:27 nferraz joined #mojo
11:28 nferraz Hey, guys
11:28 nferraz I'm using Mojolicious to serve Flash content
11:29 nferraz I noticed that Mojolicious::Types doesn't include swf  => 'application/x-shockwave-flash' header
11:29 nferraz is this by design? Or should it be included?
11:29 sri just add it yourself
11:30 nferraz I did that
11:30 nferraz and I wondered if this should be patched upstream
11:30 sri we shouldn't encourage people to use flash
11:30 nferraz Agreed!
11:30 nferraz but... shouldn't we be agnostic about what people use?
11:31 sri if you want flash you should suffer for it ;p
11:31 nferraz ehhehe
11:31 nferraz true
11:31 edenc not adding explicit support for a given technology looks like a good way to be agnostic about it
11:31 nferraz I'm working with javascript that must deal with Flash... and when I tried to identify the content in a after_static_dispatch hook, it displayed nothing
11:32 nferraz hi edenc :)
11:32 sri i wouldn't want microsoft mime types in there either
11:32 nferraz so... is there a way to plug in new content types, without forking the code?
11:33 sri actually i'm wondering if we should remove the pdf mime type
11:33 nferraz oh
11:33 nferraz I think this should do the trick:   $app->types->type(twt => 'text/tweet');
11:34 sri you're welcome to release a Mojolicious::Plugin::AllTheMIMETypesYouCouldEverThinkOf to CPAN
11:34 nferraz cool :)
11:35 sri tempire, marcus, crab: remove pdf mime type?
11:35 nferraz I think pdf is a open standard right now, isn't it?
11:36 marcus sri: I'd rather add flash
11:36 nferraz since 2008 - http://www.iso.org/iso/pressrelease?refid=Ref1141
11:36 sri it was only added in february this year, how weird
11:36 marcus sri: removing it seems idealistic rather than pragmatic.
11:36 sri marcus: it's easy enough to have a plugin with more mime types
11:36 marcus sri: it's easier if it just works.
11:37 nferraz I wouldn't remove basic types, like pdf...
11:37 sri we should be idealistic about which web technologies to support
11:37 marcus swf and pdf are both useful for some cases.
11:38 nferraz useful *and* open standards, submitted to iso
11:39 sri pdf maybe, but supporting swf actively means delaying html5
11:43 nferraz I don't think adding a header promotes a format... it only helps when you have to deal with it (in my case, because I'm using Mojolicious to test legacy stuff)
11:46 nferraz besides, I think this line ---> my $type = $self->res->headers->content_type; <--- should simply work as expected
11:51 nferraz well... my problem is solved; just thought it should work as expected since first time
11:51 nferraz thanks for the help!
11:51 nferraz and Mojolicious rocks!!! :)
12:01 sri glad you like it :)
12:02 batman i'm going on and on about st2... let me know when it's too much :P
