02:00 buu So
02:00 buu Can anyone point me at the best way to perform authentication before a bunch of routes?
02:01 buu Bridges?
02:01 purl Bridges are layer 2 devices, routers are layer 3 devices
02:04 jamesw heh
02:05 buu Useful robots.
02:05 buu Can I put a bridge on '/'
02:05 buu And then just make everything below that?
02:06 buu Oh, or I can use hooks
02:06 buu MY GOD THESE DECISIONS.
02:07 jamesw it must be hell using perl with all the decisions

08:01 buu So uh, if I run perl -Mojo -le'print Mojo::UserAgent->new->post_json("/foo",{stuff})'; Where the hell is it posting to?
08:01 buu Because it returns back html.
08:01 Kwa I guess it's up to you to return json?
08:02 Kwa $self->render(json => { foo => bar }); ?
08:02 xaka1 joined #mojo
08:03 Kwa Oh, I misread that. I guess that's posting to http://localhost/foo?
08:03 buu localhost isn't listening on port 80
08:04 buu The only thing that would produce html on that box is listening on :3000 and if I specify "localhost:3000/foo" I get back.. different html..
08:07 bjoernfan Headers here are saying localhost:51952... Not sure if I'm reading it right..
08:07 buu bind(3, {sa_family=AF_INET, sin_port=htons(54902), sin_addr=inet_addr("127.0.0.1")}, 16) = 0
08:07 buu listen(3, 128)                          = 0
08:07 spleenjack joined #mojo
08:08 buu I guess it's starting a dummy mojo instance on a random 5xxxx port and posting to it
08:08 buu HOW MAGICAL.
08:08 buu I suppose that's what -Mojo does, heh.
08:08 bjoernfan I'd guess that's the case.

14:58 eppler Hi there! I need to process a large dataset which may take up to 10 minutes. The user should see a progress bar...but how is this done the best in mojolicious? I was trying to send some state information through an IOLoop while processing the data in a while-loop...but this doesn't seem to work.

18:59 sri i've looked through the quotes, and some were really not very funny
18:59 Britzel ack
19:00 sri i'm gonna remove the requirement and we can bring back only the good ones
19:00 alester Do they actually help anything?
19:01 sri define help
19:01 alester Seems to me that anything that someone has to read is extra weight.
19:01 sri they have been very helpful with filtering out the kind of people we don't want to work with :)
19:02 Britzel Whatever makes the programmer happy makes him more productive and therefore helps me :)
19:02 sri do the LotR quotes in the perl source "help"?
19:03 sri yea, it's about programmer happiness

19:18 davido In a Plack environment behind nginx $self->tx->remote_address just returns the IP of some internal system; a load balancer perhaps.  $self->req->env->{HTTP_X_REAL_IP} seems to do what I need, though it contains some cruft prepended to the actual IP ('::ffff:').  What is that?
19:19 alester I like them.  If I were working on the code, though, I might get frustrated at non-doc non-code at the top of every function.
19:20 alester But I'm not.:-)
19:23 sri i think bringing back the best quotes and only adding to the top of files should work best
19:23 sri *+them
19:24 sri like, above the includes or attributes
19:26 alester Yeah, top of file like LOTR = win.
19:26 alester especially if they're relevant.
19:27 alester ""It all comes from here, the stench and the peril." in the regex.c
19:27 alester Sorry, toke.c
19:28 * sri nods
