01:23 sri :o
01:25 Adura Needs imptovement.
01:26 sri rwstauner: is that error consistent with cygwin or also very very rare?
01:26 * sri sets Adura on fire
01:26 Adura I shall cygwin on.
01:26 Adura Making sure everything is the latest with cygwin, though.
01:27 sri 5.10.1 is also interesting, i've only seen that error with 5.16.1 so far
01:27 purl okay, sri.
01:27 Adura Latest is 5.14.2-3 to me.

03:57 rwstauner well "Recently" as in this year probably

09:15 nic diegok++ for bestowing the perl package unto the world
09:16 nic I've just installed redis and monit, so should be trying it out today  \o/
09:20 nic sri: I'm wondering if there's a way we could flag which releases contain security-related changes
09:21 nic If a release is just improving documentation or making minor optimisations then it's of little interest to people tracking security updates
09:21 nic But recently you strengthened the handling of ->param and documented good vs bad usage
09:22 nic so even the docn would qualify it as a security-related update
09:25 nic I know people can/should read the Changes file, but just pondering if we can cheaply provide something more explicit
09:26 nic Maybe just a wiki page that's purely for listing qualifying releases (and why/where they're important)

11:26 nour how do i change the default cookie name? i get malicious hacking attempt messages because i'm developing more than one app
11:27 inokenty http://mojolicio.us/perldoc/Mojolicious/Sessions
11:28 vervain http://mojolicio.us/perldoc/Mojolicious/Sessions#cookie_name
11:28 vervain Ya... what he said. ;-)
11:28 nour cool--other question is whether mojo has built-in somewhere or a plugin exists to detect browser
11:28 nour i.e. parse the request useragent and boil it down to msie/gecko/webkit etc
11:32 fhelmber_ joined #mojo

12:21 dpetrov_ nour: HTTP::BrowserDetect
12:21 purl HTTP::BrowserDetect is crapping out with stupid errors
12:21 dpetrov_ would probably do what you want
12:34 nour i remember seeing somewhere a way to tell mojo what module to use as the default json encoder/decoder
12:34 nour anyone know?
12:43 mire_ joined #mojo
12:43 Kwa nour: You'd probably need to override the json handler in Mojolicious::Renderer.
12:46 nic diegok: looks like "cpanm Mojolicious::Plugin::Resque" no worky
12:46 nic it barfs on Test-RedisServer-0.11
12:48 sri diegok: see! told you folks would look for a plugin :D
12:48 nic :)
12:49 nic so it was a trap
12:50 nic diegok: The problem was local :P
12:50 * nic learns not to set PERL_CPANM_HOME
13:02 judofyr joined #mojo
13:04 nic wow, didn't know you could point cpanm at github
13:04 nic i guess that's what tempire was saying about making a tarball available
13:04 judofyr sri: I wish ->route accepted a stash parameter: my $u = $r->route('/users' => 'users'); $u->get->to('#show');
13:05 sri judofyr: wat?
13:05 purl Watt?  Watt?  I can't hear you, there's this buzzing noise where my brain should be.
13:06 sri nic: we use that to make cpanm http://latest.mojolicio.us work
13:06 judofyr sri: the second parameter to ->route is a (partial) stash value which sets controller to 'users'
13:07 sri that always installs github master
13:07 nic ah, cool
13:07 sri judofyr: i don't see the gain
13:08 judofyr sri: I often do my $f = $r->route('/foo') to group things; would be nice to avoid typing ->to('controller#action') everywhere
13:08 judofyr and just ->to('#action') instead
13:08 judofyr not a big thing :)
13:09 sri what's wrong with my $foo = $r->route('/foo')->to('controller#');?
13:09 judofyr what works?
13:09 judofyr that*
13:09 sri of course :)
13:09 judofyr I thought ->to sets it as an endpoint too
13:10 sri no, inheriting arbitrary syash data from parents is a core concept of the router
13:10 sri *stash
13:11 sri something becomes an endpoint automatically by having no children
13:12 sri (bridges being a little special)
13:12 judofyr aaaah
13:12 judofyr TIL

16:29 nour i need something that hooks in after the controller chain has executed but before rendering
16:29 nour what to use
16:29 nour around_dispatch is too late as it's already rendered by end
16:35 inokenty nour: Some time ago there was a hook called 'before_render'. And then was removed because nobody used it. So it you want to do something before rendering you should make a helper e.g. smart_render which will emit the 'before_render' hook and then render your template (like vti did  https://github.com/vti/bootylicious/blob/master/lib/Bootylicious/Plugin/BootyHelpers.pm)
16:36 inokenty s/So it/So if/
16:37 inokenty And in your controller you will use $self->smart_render(...) instead of $self->render(...)
16:39 nic hi diegok
16:39 diegok hi :)
16:39 nic Just wondering, is there a manual way to monitor jobs if you don't install resque-server?
16:39 diegok you have all the needed methods on Resque class
16:40 nic awesome
16:40 diegok nic: again, tell me if you need something. I think I've implemented everything that make sense to me from original resque
16:41 diegok nic: you can use the resque instance from the plugin to access all the features you need for inspection
16:41 nic It does look good

20:45 marcus sri: Maybe mojo should be a github organization?
20:46 sri marcus: i've thought about that too, but what's the gain?
20:46 marcus sri: it would show up our our profile pages as an organization :)
20:48 marcus and you can use teams to control permissions
20:49 marcus I guess moving the repo would require some cleanup tho
20:49 marcus there's some urls out there..
20:50 marcus maybe best to leave it alone

20:52 marcus also, /mojo/mojo would lead to some new confusion :p
