00:22 crab sri: i've always wondered why more people don't use that
00:23 crab to me it seems insane to have to declare the number of tests in a file (except in-core, where there's a realistic chance that something will segfault or die unpleasantly)
00:23 avenj I like needing to declare tests, I never have to wonder if one of them didn't fire
00:24 avenj (I'm usually testing async Stuff)
00:24 avenj er, declare number of tests, rather
00:31 Adurah joined #mojo
00:33 crab hmm
00:33 crab well, i see no option but for us to have a duel. pistols at dawn?
00:33 avenj shotguns at midnight!

00:53 sri crab: i suppose it could be that done_testing is still relatively new... never shipped in a 5.8.x release
00:53 sri avenj: you're doing it wrong!
00:53 avenj in testing, or duelling with shotguns?
00:54 sri testing :)
00:54 avenj that's possible
00:54 sri you shouldn't test in your event callbacks
00:54 sri just collect the values and test afterwards
00:54 avenj I suppose that works, but unless I'm intent on not counting tests, why?
00:55 sri for me it resulted in more reliable tests
00:55 sri much more reliable
00:55 avenj I suppose I have a little bit of both going on and should be more consistent
00:56 sri tracking down where an event didn't fire and a test in turn didn't work sucks big time
00:56 sri since there is no indicator of what went wrong
00:56 avenj that's true
00:57 sri even when i was still counting that was reason enough never to test in callbacks :)
00:57 sri but to hell with counting, we are free now!

03:46 crab sri: next/previous is where?
03:46 sri Mojo::DOM
03:47 crab this is in response to someone asking the other day if there was no "sibling" methods?
03:47 crab i think it is a good idea on the face of it, since i have used next/prev-like methods in jquery, but i haven't looked at the implementation if any
03:48 sri implementation is not an issue, question is just if it makes sense for Mojo::DOM
03:49 crab i think it does, having looked now at the examples
03:50 sri good, that's +3 and it's voted in

04:43 tempire +1 on next/prev
04:44 sri tempire: the method is called previous though
04:45 sri http://mojolicio.us/perldoc/Mojo/DOM # seems to fit in better than prev, looking over all methods
04:47 tempire previous is fine.
04:47 sri if you think it should be renamed you better tell me now, i kinda just uploaded a little release :)
04:48 tempire I go back and forth depending on context, but always default to the full word.
04:48 tempire say now
04:48 tempire mojocon is public info now?
04:48 tempire \o/
04:48 sri http://grep.cpan.me/?q=sub+prev+%5C%7B vs http://grep.cpan.me/?q=sub+previous+%5C%7B
04:48 sri prev wins a little atm it seems
04:49 tempire choosing between previous and prev is a rabbit hole.

04:49 tempire I refuse to get caught up in it again
04:49 * sri chains tempire to the channel
04:50 tempire the best one is the one that's already implemented, working, and tested.
04:50 sri and released
04:50 * sri hides
04:51 * tempire wants to make a k-pop themed mojocast
04:51 * sri wants to see that
04:51 tempire I started to make a songify mix of the mojo promos I made
04:51 tempire but given the low response to the robots and vikings one, I stopped.

09:48 batman is there a way to set "disable cache" in a quick way in the response headers?
09:48 batman or must i manually set all the appropriate headers my self?
09:49 Britzel_ Isn't that $r->cache(0) ?
09:50 batman Britzel_: where is that documented?
09:50 Britzel_ http://mojolicio.us/perldoc/Mojolicious/Routes#cache

09:51 batman sweet!
09:51 batman thanks
09:51 batman nah
09:51 Britzel_ not?
09:51 batman it seems to set the cache for the route, and not the response header to the web client
09:51 Britzel_ Oh, sorry
09:52 batman i was thinking maybe this was enough: $c->res->headers->cache_control('no-store ');
09:52 Britzel_ $self->res->headers->cache_control('max-age=1, no-cache');
09:53 batman ok

12:22 jfuller Guys, I am running a mojolicious site with some starman workers, and periodically some of the starman workers get hung up, and peg processors. I have done some logging with $$ to try to figure out where its getting stuck, and it looks like it is happening most of the time during dispatch. Any recommendations for debugging?

13:24 nic perl -E'my $o = q{$}; say join q{:}, split /$o/, q{a$c}'   # wanted 'a:c'; got 'a$c'
13:24 nic I know why that happened, but not how to fix it
13:25 nic I mean, I know q{\$} fixes it, but I can't predict what will be in $o
13:25 rem_lex| joined #mojo
13:26 nic Is there any way to get split to not interpret its pattern other than as literals?
13:28 rem_lex joined #mojo
13:31 avenj split takes a pattern except for the ' ' special case
13:31 avenj but you could just quote metachars
13:32 avenj perl -E'my $o = q{$}; say join q{:}, split /\Q$o/, q{a$c}'  ## does what you want for that particular case
13:36 nic fantastic -- thank you avenj -- I was trying to remember how to escape them but didn't spot it in the perldoc (it's there => I'm blind)

13:37 nic so if I put "-1" as the third arg to split, my code is fixed

16:45 dod1 Currently, it's nor working because the user agent does not setup Set-Cookie: mojolicious=xxx in the ws connection
