06:35 bpmedley Is this a decent way to do virtual type hosts: http://paste.debian.net/220478/ ?
06:44 anewkirk ??
06:45 anewkirk never heard of it
06:45 bpmedley anewkirk: What is confusing?
06:45 anewkirk "virtual type hosts"
06:45 bpmedley anewkirk: I'd like the same Mojo app to serve multiple dns entries.
06:45 bpmedley anewkirk: Kinda like NameVirtualHosts in apache.
06:46 tempire bpmedley: does it work?
06:46 tempire if so, then it's decent
06:46 bpmedley tempire: Yes.. :)
06:46 bpmedley tempire: Is there a better way?
06:46 tempire but usually, named virtual hosts are done by the reverse proxy
06:46 anewkirk bpmedley, read the deployment section of the cookbook
06:47 bpmedley anewkirk: I have, actually.
06:48 anewkirk typically people use apache or nginx as a proxy
06:48 anewkirk are you not interested in doing that?
06:49 bpmedley anewkirk: I'm not sure.
06:49 anewkirk read the cookbook again
06:56 bpmedley anewkirk: I'd like each host to get a separate route.  Wouldn't I still need those Header condition routes?
06:57 anewkirk no
06:57 bpmedley Why not?
06:57 anewkirk see ProxyPass
06:58 bpmedley How would that help me differentiate the .com and .net?
06:58 anewkirk okay, i get the feeling I am (or am going to) come off as a bit of an ass
06:59 bpmedley that's fine
06:59 anewkirk (thinking)
06:59 anewkirk are you familiar with setting up virtual hosts with apache?
06:59 bpmedley Yes, fairly familiar.
06:59 zivester joined #mojo
07:00 anewkirk okay
07:00 anewkirk read -- https://metacpan.org/module/SRI/Mojolicious-3.70/lib/Mojolicious/Guides/Cookbook.pod#Apache-mod_proxy
07:00 bpmedley I read that and am messing around with it as an example.
07:01 anewkirk ProxyPass /my-special-route-handler-goes-here http://localhost:8080/ keepalive=On
07:01 anewkirk make sense?
07:01 bpmedley Hrrm.  Kinda, however, I want each dns entry to possibly have it's own route.
07:02 anewkirk okay
07:03 bpmedley So, http://domain.com/ and http://domain.net/ both have their own, unique, route destination.
07:03 anewkirk I've never done it personally but I'm sure apache has proxy conditions ...
07:04 anewkirk and if not, simply create multiple virtualhost configs
07:04 bpmedley That would probably work.  Do you think it would work better than the Mojo HeaderCondition method?
07:05 bpmedley Hrmm.  Also, I'd like http://domain.com/file and http://domain.net/file to possibly point to different route destinations.
07:06 anewkirk sounds like it should be two different apps
07:07 bpmedley I see your point; however, there will be a lot of common code.
07:08 anewkirk thats the problem classes and libraries solve
07:09 bpmedley Understood, I may not have my problem very well defined and the solution in my brain may be obtuse.  Or both.  :)

21:43 tempire https://gist.github.com/4422901
21:44 tempire if $tx->req or $tx->res is used, redirects are not followed.
21:44 tempire Comment it out, everything continues as expected.

23:54 PanzerBjorn Hey guys, have a cookie question. I noticed that the cookie() method is on the controller level... Can I use it in the startup{...} level as well?
23:56 PanzerBjorn I tried doing that quickly in a sandbox, and while there were no errors indicated, it didn't seem to set any cookie.
23:57 vervain Are you trying to put it in startup because you want it set on all requests?
23:57 PanzerBjorn (Nor could it read cookies that had been set by a previous non-Mojo script on my site.)
23:57 vervain If so you may want a nested route or a bridge
23:57 PanzerBjorn No, I need to verify session validity before routing.
23:59 PanzerBjorn I can access existing cookies in startup by $self->tx->req->cookies->etc but the setting of cookies seems to be controller-only.
