02:17 Akron \o/ Finally, my contribution to the realtime web: http://search.cpan.org/dist/Mojolicious-Plugin-PubSubHubbub/ ;)
02:25 bpmedley Akron: Looks cool.  Do you have a working server?
02:27 Akron bpmedley: The example app is running for 2 weeks now - most fixes in that time were focusing on that. There's a screenshot here: https://github.com/Akron/Mojolicious-Plugin-PubSubHubbub
02:27 Fremean joined #mojo
02:27 Akron I don't know what to do to make cpan show the screenshot ...
02:28 Akron bpmedley: Sorry - https://github.com/Akron/Mojolicious-Plugin-PubSubHubbub#example is the direct location.
02:28 bpmedley Nice
02:29 Akron Next step is to make it async.
02:30 Akron Thanks.

02:40 Akron And as always with newly released CPAN packages - the next time I look into the source code I find a huge bug. Damn.
02:41 preaction_ is the bug "My tests didn't catch the bug"?
02:42 Akron In that case the bug is in the example app, which has no published unit tests as it has separate dependencies, but ... yes, normally that's the way it goes. ;).
02:42 preaction_ huh. with google reader dying, this seems like an interesting idea whose time has come
02:43 Akron I'm running rssLounge now for I guess a year or so and I'm quite happy with it.
02:44 preaction_ i switched to feedly, they say they're going to have a replacement for their usage of reader's apis. i'd prefer something that cached locally, but we can't have everything
02:44 preaction_ i've been thinking of taking up the task, and i'd want push notifications, which looks to be what PubSubHubbub is for
02:45 Akron Yes. Feedly seems to be nice. As I never used the API with any Apps I am not missing it. Newsblur had the same API for years.
02:46 Akron Yes, PubSubHubbub is for push notifications. And it's pretty popular. The competitor is rssCloud, which is similar (but without fat pinging).
02:47 Akron Unfortunately Google also owns feedburner, which is the main PuSH distributor - and likely to be killed in the next years.
02:48 preaction_ wonderful. open APIs aren't profitable for Google, so let's stop using them! use our G+ push APIs instead!
02:49 rem_lex|pivo joined #mojo
02:51 Akron G+ has an API?
02:53 Akron Well Google shut down the feedburner API in the last year - it's nearby to shut down the service completely.
02:57 Akron preaction_: The bug is fixed on GitHub, if you want to play with the example app. I will prepare a new CPAN release tomorrow.
03:13 Akron Bye!

18:05 vervain CSS Selectors such as [attr="&"] don't seem to work.
18:06 vervain Maybe putting & char codes in element attributes is looney but I've ran across it and found this issue.
18:06 vervain I have a failing test against the current code if anyone wants it.
18:07 vervain If this 'should' work then I can work on the fix too if you want, just let me know.
18:08 sri no, it shouldn't work
18:09 sri we normalize entities
18:11 basic6 joined #mojo
18:13 vervain Is there a way to do it or should I work around it?
18:15 sri read up on escaping css selectors
18:28 vervain I thinking something like [attr="\&amp\;"] but that doesn't seem to work either <shrug>
18:31 vervain For posterity: [attr="\&"] seems to do the trick
18:33 zivester joined #mojo
18:33 sri perl -Mojo -E 'say x(q{<div id="bar">A</div><div id="&amp;">B</div>})->at(q{[id="&"]})->text'
18:35 sri not actually sure how valid it is, but it works atm
18:35 sri better check the spec first
