03:32 sri jberger: not really
03:33 jberger sri: just curious. I know Prima has an event loop, written in C, and it works on all platforms, and its developer is ... well ... not ...
03:35 jberger I can't wait until my thesis defense is over, I miss Galileo
03:42 * sri has an image of jberger defending a castle against hordes of scientists in his head now
03:44 sri just because something has an event loop doesn't make it a good platform, we want something that installs relatively easy, is used by many real event loops as backend, and scales really well (uses kqueue/epoll internally somehow)
03:45 sri ideally AnyEvent, IO::Async and POE just work with it as a backend
03:47 * sri might be playing too much tower defense games

12:43 sri hmmm
12:43 Slatibart Hi, just for clarification. Plugin/TagHelpers does not have anything defined for <td>, <tr> or <table> tags ? Wanted to implement some simple table generation helpers without using HTML directly
12:43 andrefs joined #mojo
12:43 * sri wonders if a before_actions hook would make sense
12:44 sri it would run after matching but before dispatching to actions
12:44 bowtie joined #mojo
12:44 sri so $c->match->stack and friends could be rewritten
12:44 sri to dispatch to other stuff
12:47 sri maybe too complicated

13:01 marty Slatibart:  Nothing specifically for tables but you can use tag/t.    https://metacpan.org/module/Mojolicious::Plugin::TagHelpers#t
13:02 Slatibart I see, strange that  there is nothing for td/tr in it
13:05 marty Slatibart:  something like this..   https://gist.github.com/MadMartigan/5262964
13:07 marty I specific table helper could be nice.  But it gets pretty hairy when you try to account for all possible uses

13:23 jberger marty, why not trust the fat comma?
13:23 jberger %= t table => begin
13:24 jberger %= t 'table', => begin is at best oververbose, and at worst too many elements
13:25 marty ahhh, didn't know I could.  that's much cleaner.   jberger++
13:25 jberger fat comma ftw!
13:25 sri hashrocket!
13:27 jberger hashrocket! I like it!

13:50 * sri wonders if vmware fusion or parallels are worth the price these days, or if he should just use virtualbox
13:53 vervain joined #mojo
13:56 mire joined #mojo
14:01 jberger vbox has always worked well for me, don't know about the others, but they would have to be markedly superior to make me pay for them over vbox
14:01 Slatibart marty: ok, hadn't the => begin stuff on the radar. Now it needs some foreach tweaking to print our nicely tables
14:02 btyler the guys who spend a lot of time doing cross browser stuff at my workplace all swear by vmware fusion, saying it's substantially faster than vbox
14:02 mattastrophe joined #mojo
14:03 marty sri: we use vmware fusion and it works well for us.   I have no experience with virutalbox however.

14:31 rihegher1 Hi
14:31 sri o/
14:31 rihegher1 sri: I have a quick question about mango
14:32 rihegher1 how can I set the flag slave_ok when initiating a connection?
14:32 sri you can't
14:32 sri replica sets are unsupported
14:32 rihegher1 Ok then how can I query a secondary replica?
14:32 rihegher1 ok
14:33 sri so far the feature set is limited to things that can be tested with free mongohq sandboxes
14:34 rihegher1 Do you plan to support replica anytime soon?
14:35 sri don't have the resources
14:35 suy is => also named hashrocket? The only hashrocket I knew are http://hashrocket.com/ who indeed have => as a logo. But I don't see the relation. :-/
14:35 rihegher1 ressources like instances, time, knowledge?
14:36 sri like test setups and time
14:36 rihegher1 Well I think I may help with ressources
14:37 rihegher1 and time
14:37 sri who knows, maybe travis will support replica sets and sharding at some point
14:37 rihegher1 travis?
14:38 sri it needs to be maintainable too, so a test setup i will have access to indefinitely too
14:38 sri travis-ci
14:39 rihegher1 Did you spoke with the 10gens guys about it?
14:39 sri 10gen has a jenkins setup with many different deployment scenarios, something like that
14:39 sri nope, i have no contacts at 10gen
14:39 rihegher1 I got some actually
14:39 sri and the perl evangelist is not active in the community
14:40 rihegher1 they keep asking what kind of commercial support they could give me about mongoDB
14:40 rihegher1 I told them about the Perl driver
14:40 sri i got to talk to him once on irc, when i reported that MongoClient still defaults to unsafe writes
14:41 sri well, i'm still hoping i won't ever have to add replica set support because they finally fix mongos :)
14:42 sri https://jira.mongodb.org/browse/SERVER-1594 # vote for this!
14:43 rihegher1 I know
14:43 rihegher1 so once this will be fixe then replica will be supported ?
14:43 sri sure, it's trivial then
14:46 sri next features on the roadmap for mango are connection pool support and gridfs
15:03 rihegher1 sri: I've sent an email to my contact at 10gen to ask him if there is any plan for them to deal with this ticket soon.
15:04 rihegher1 I let you know once I got a reply

15:38 good_news_everyone left #mojo
15:40 sri rihegher1: btw. i'm not opposed to adding individual replica set features that can be tested with mongohq, all that matters is that they can be tested reliably
15:41 sri adding the features is mostly pretty trivial, the hard part is making sure they keep working ;)
