00:04 jberger I'd be happy for any comment on this before I release (probably later tonight): https://github.com/jberger/Generator-Object
00:04 jberger I want it on CPAN before tomorrow's Chicago.pm

02:28 btyler hi mojoites. trying to figure out event emitters, running into a funky error: "can't locate object method 1 via package <packagename>". example: http://pastebin.com/HwHqwq2N

02:38 jberger btyler, the emitter emits the events, others subscribe
02:38 jberger $self->emit('clicked')
02:41 HtbaaPi joined #mojo
02:42 btyler oh, I see. I was thinking of them like nodejs emitters, where the message is specific to the object that emitted it
02:51 btyler hm, still confused. they seem to behave just like I expected them to in the simplest situation: node: http://pastebin.com/0UD6XRy5 vs mojo: http://pastebin.com/RzBqTbWp

03:58 btyler ah, figured it out. the second argument on 'on' needs to be a coderef, and $object->method isn't one. sticking a closure there: http://pastebin.com/yEMfGp75 did what I was hoping.

06:33 xablor So I'm playing with Mojo::Test and json_hasnt isn't responding as expected.
06:34 xablor I'm sure it's a PEBCAK error, but would appreciate easy enlightenment if any is to be found at this hour.

07:15 iankent anyone tried using mojolicious with EV? if I call multiple unique routes, they all work even if one blocks, but if I call the same route multiple times, each request for that route blocks later requests
07:18 iankent actually does the same just using AnyEvent (see https://gist.github.com/ian-kent/5973234 for example)
07:18 rem_lex|pivo joined #mojo
07:21 Tiger joined #mojo
07:30 iankent looks as though the example in mojo docs (http://mojolicio.us/perldoc/Mojolicious/Guides/Cookbook#Event_loops) also doesn't work (first request blocks subsequent requests)

07:39 iankent extending the mojo doc example, if I add in another route it works (https://gist.github.com/ian-kent/5973339), just not multiple calls to one route

08:01 dod xablor[away]: hi. You wanted to ask me something ?
08:02 dod iankent: I think calling directly AE::timer  may lead to trouble. Why don't you use Mojo::IOLoop->timer ?

08:54 iankent (although, what happens if I have other code that internally uses EV timer?)
09:00 iankent IOLoop->timer has the same problem... https://gist.github.com/ian-kent/5973814

09:27 Dandre hello,
09:32 Dandre I have a route that calls a subroutine and just send back the result formatted as json. In another part I have to "call" this service.
09:32 Dandre if I use mojo user agent and connect to this url will it be too expensive in terms of cpu/memory usage ? is it recommanded to directly call the subroutine implementing the service ?
09:37 batman Dandre: are you doing $ua->get('/internal/resource', sub { ... }); from within the app?
09:38 batman Dandre: you should call the method directly instead and then store the data inside the stash
09:38 batman you could also move the logic to a helper and call the helper from both resources
09:38 Dandre not yet but that's the idea
09:39 batman don't do it. doesn't make sense :/
09:40 Dandre I intended to do this way because I wanted to keep the oportunity to move both parts on tow different servers. But that's not the cas for now
09:41 batman Dandre: right. i would keep it simple until you need to make it complicated :)
09:41 Dandre sure
09:42 batman but i'm pretty sure the $ua->get() would work. at least as long as you make it non-blocking

23:26 freman Greetings gentlefolks
23:26 freman As we're well aware, I'm doing scary things with mojo
23:26 freman I've run into a problem where my mojo daemon stops accepting requests
23:27 freman I added a before dispatch that prints out the number of requests it's served and it appears to fall over on request 1051
23:27 freman it's not doing anything special, in fact almost all the previous 1000 requests are identical
23:27 freman any ideas?
23:30 freman the daemon doesn't appear to have locked up or crashed, timers still run and websockets remain open but it won't take any more requests
23:48 freman hmmm appears to be a hypnotoad relation - running in daemon mode I exceed the 1050 rquests easily
23:49 freman that'd be the "accepts" parameter :D
