09:20 Dandre hello,
09:20 tudorconstantin hello
09:21 Dandre must I put in all my sources 'use utf8' or is there an option to morbo/hypnotoad to set it by default?
09:22 nicomen what are you using use utf8 for?
09:23 Dandre I have some string constants in utf8 that are displayed using a template
09:23 Dandre I add to put use uft8 to display them correctly
09:24 nicomen you only need uwse utf8 in the file you are defining the string constants
09:24 nicomen use
09:24 Dandre in templates this is done automatically by templaterenderer as I have understood
09:24 nic Dandre: If you pull the string constants from a file (eg a cfg file) then you won't need "use utf8;" -- just an idea
09:24 Dandre There are several of them
09:25 nic all the more reason to separate them out (to a file that's encoded in utf8) :)
09:25 sri o/
09:25 Dandre these are not in cfg file
09:25 nic sri: Is the project to do a job scheduler (in mojo+mango) still on the back-burner?
09:26 Dandre I have some process handlers and those different handler exports some label to be displayed in another template
09:26 sri nic: you know me, i take my time before i release something new
09:27 Dandre it would be convenient to flag all source files as uth8
09:27 Dandre utf8
09:28 sri Dandre: http://mojolicio.us/perldoc/Mojo/Base#DESCRIPTION
09:29 Dandre ok thanks
09:32 nic ah, of course; otherwise the snowman examples wouldn't work
10:00 batman can i somehow change the controller in a bridge?
10:01 batman would like to do ->to("#some_action"); and then set ->stash(controller => "...") in the bridge, dependent on http headers
10:02 Dandre How can I use jQuery file bundled in Mojolicious?
10:02 batman oh. crap. ignore me :/
10:03 batman Dandre: %= javascript '/mojo/jquery/jquery.js'
10:03 sri batman-- # don't tell people to use bundled files
10:04 sri they are private and will break
10:05 * sri still remembers the complaint that triggered it... "WHY WOULD YOU UPGRADE JQUERY, YOU BROKE MY APP!!!1"
10:05 Dandre sri: so do you recommend to put jquery-min.js in my own public directory?
10:05 batman Dandre: YES
10:05 Dandre ha ok
10:06 batman sorry for not also saying it's a bad idea and should not be done in production apps
10:06 batman hm... i need to ask again: should i add over('condition') to route to different controllers?
10:07 sri batman: i don't recommend it, but you can rewrite the stack http://mojolicio.us/perldoc/Mojolicious/Routes/Match#stack
10:08 batman sri: thanks
10:12 sri jberger: you should tweet your blog posts so i can retweet ;)

15:17 nic haha.  was just wondering wtf is this 'catz' project I was looking at last summer?  turns out it was catza.net -- which introduced me to Mojolicious :)
15:24 nic In UserAgent, can I disable the Accept-Encoding header?
15:24 nic I mean, is there a prettier way that "{ 'Accept-Encoding' => 'foo' }" ?
15:25 nic hm, 'Accept-Encoding' => ' ' also works

15:49 d^_^b so I am trying to use M::UA but I am getting error: SSL connect attempt failed because of handshake problems SSL wants a read first.

16:19 gordon_bennett Hi there, I was wondering if anyone could tell me a decent free web host that supports Mojolicious::Lite
16:20 nic heroku
16:22 d^_^b weird. so works on my mac but not my windows system with mojo::useragent...
16:22 d^_^b something must be old on my windows system...
16:23 gordon_bennett Is heroku free? I just want a temporary place to develop my app (so stakeholders can all access), then i'll deploy it on a proper paid hosting environment when it's ready for abuse :)

16:50 d^_^b any reason why mojo::ua on my mac works why similar perl version on windows I am getting SSL wants a read first using mojo get https://somesite.com?
16:51 d^_^b IO::Socket::SSL is same version on both.
16:52 gordon_bennett Net::SSLeay?
16:54 d^_^b I don't think I updated on windows, but default it had was 1.48.
16:56 d^_^b looks like I have 1.55 installed
16:57 d^_^b on windows
17:01 d^_^b actually same on both
17:05 sri anyone know where the $ENV{HTTPS} = on/off thing comes from spec wise?
17:06 sri cgi specs don't seem to mention it
17:10 sri mod_ssl docs say it is just a flag signaling a HTTPS connection
17:10 sri https://github.com/kraih/mojo/pull/547 # this pull request claims IIS always says HTTPS=off
17:21 * sri remembers with horror the IIS hacks we used to have... https://github.com/kraih/mojo/commit/12f90b3cd1f95023cc33e868ccfb2aebddb76792
17:32 d^_^b hey sri, any ideas on my ssl issue on windows? I found a log from a year ago but it mostly dealing with cacert not being in your browser ssl.
17:33 sri no
17:35 d^_^b I am using 5.16.1 and 5.18.1 on windows same error messages.
18:00 sri d^_^b: don't expect anyone to help you track it down, IO::Socket::SSL problems are a nightmare
18:03 d^_^b well what is weird it works on my mac. :(
18:04 d^_^b well not totally weird. just this is my personal laptop and I try not to use it for work.
18:05 d^_^b Maybe when I get some free time in a few weeks I'll try to track it down.

20:28 jim hello everyone, i have a simple webpage (which does POST) needing authentication to company's LDAP server. I need limit access to this page to only two people. I checked metacpan Mojolicious::Plugin*Auth* packages still no clue. anyone have tutorials/sample codes? thx!
20:29 mst 'code' does not have a plural, and 'thx' is not a word.
20:30 mst wouldn't it be easy to use https://metacpan.org/module/Mojolicious::Plugin::Authentication
20:31 mst and just write load_user and validate_user subs
20:32 jim checking thanks somehow i didn't came across this module when I search metacpan
20:32 mst I typed 'mojolicious auth' into metacpan and it was the first one on the list
20:32 jim i typed mojolicious ldap..
20:33 mst yes. I tried that first, got nothing, and used my brain.
