16:09 odc is there a good exemple of a plugin inheriting from Mojo::UserAgent?
16:09 odc mine doesn't seem to work with ioloop->delay
16:09 odc and i have no idea why

16:30 rindolf Hi all. Can anyone answer the questions here - http://mail.perl.org.il/pipermail/perl/2014-March/013516.html (I'm just the proxy.)?
16:30 jrbeilke joined #mojo
16:33 odc rindolf, does this help? https://metacpan.org/pod/Mojolicious::Plugin::PlackMiddleware
16:34 odc what's wrong with this code? http://p.thorsen.pm/18e9d6314aef
16:35 go|dfish rindolf: also http://mojolicio.us/perldoc/Mojolicious/Guides/Cookbook#Plack_middleware
16:38 rawler joined #mojo
16:42 go|dfish odc: none of the examples of delay i've seen pass subs to ->new like that. not sure what you're doing but maybe you want, $d->steps( sub { ...
16:44 odc go|dfish, look at the exemple with the succession of IOLoop->timer
16:44 odc mine is basically the same, with a $ua->get instead
16:45 rem_lex|pivo joined #mojo
16:46 tempire odc: many things
16:46 purl many things are right there.
16:46 tempire ->delay returns a delay object
16:46 tempire You're looking for steps
16:46 tempire which is a method of delay
16:46 tempire so ->delay->steps is what you're probably thinking of
16:46 tempire also, that domain name doesn't exist
16:48 odc oops
16:48 odc but tempire, what do you do of the exemple here : https://metacpan.org/pod/Mojo::IOLoop#delay
16:48 odc mine is basicly the same
16:49 odc # Sequentialize multiple events
16:49 tempire it is not
16:49 tempire the lack of spacing between the first and second lines in the example is confusing you, probably
16:49 tempire oh, I see what you're saying
16:50 odc :D
16:51 tempire but still
16:51 tempire it's not
16:51 tempire IOLoop->delay is a shortcut
16:51 tempire it does different things depending on what you pass to it
16:52 odc hm
16:53 odc ok then i'm gonna try with steps
16:59 odc steps() is just as useless

17:03 go|dfish odc: http://p.thorsen.pm/86b0587fb878
17:03 go|dfish this works for me
17:04 odc oh
17:04 odc it doesn't for me
17:04 go|dfish hmm.
17:05 odc i'm gonna reformat my hard drive!!!
17:05 go|dfish what version of Mojolicious are you using?
17:06 odc 4.87
17:06 odc updating...
17:07 odc grr still doesn't work
17:08 odc go|dfish, what version of perl do you have?
17:08 abra joined #mojo
17:09 go|dfish odc: tried on both 5.18 and 5.19
17:10 odc i'm using v5.14 (debian)
17:10 davido_ joined #mojo
17:11 odc maybe i should install perlbrew

17:47 go|dfish strange..
17:47 purl i think strange is but true
17:47 odc indeed. I'm going home now. I'll investigate more tomorrow

18:14 tempire odc: 5.14 is fine
18:14 tempire there's nothing about it that would get in the way of what you're doing
18:15 tempire odc: the problem is that you're passing one sub into steps
18:15 tempire it operates differently, because there's no point in having one sub in steps
18:15 tempire if you pass multiple in, you'll have better luck
18:15 tempire also, your usage of ->begin is incorrect
18:15 tempire $delay->begin just returns a sub reference
18:15 tempire it doesn't do anything.
18:16 tempire if you want it to go to the next step (if you had one), you would need to call it using ->delay->()
18:16 tempire although it's not often used that way
18:17 tempire it's more recommended to pass $delay->begin as the callback to something else

20:29 abhishekisnot how do I set the default path (application wide) for session cookies? Can I do it in app init portion rather than doing it in controller?
20:45 abhishekisnot my bad, I was asking y when I meant to ask x.
20:46 abhishekisnot I am trying to read session values from $c, but I get empty value for only value I am setting
20:47 abhishekisnot in response, I set the session value on controller, but when I try to read it on subsequent request I am getting empty value
20:47 abhishekisnot surprisingly this works when I run server on 3000 using standard user, but does not work when I run as root
20:47 abhishekisnot s/standard/normal/
