02:33 bpmedley Are there any projects that provide boilerplate code for login / signup / email verification / minimal db layer?

02:47 jberger I can't say that i like where this is headed : http://jjnapiorkowski.typepad.com/modern-perl/2014/07/psgi-middleware-and-the-future-of-catalyst.html#.U8XnfaUo7qA
02:48 preaction funny enough, when we migrated webgui to plack, it became, basically, a middleware (and then spread out to multiple middlewares)
02:49 jberger And then it died and nobody used it
02:50 jberger Maybe i just don't get it
02:51 jberger But that seems like abstraction just for the sake of it
02:51 preaction it potentially gives more control over the internal bits, what mojolicious probably does better using events
02:52 preaction so if "preparing the stash" is a middleware seperate from "core Catalyst", i can edit the stash before catalyst gets it
02:53 preaction i think webgui implemented CORS as a middleware layer. "load the session" was one middleware, once we had a session, we could check the CORS key and deny the request if it didn't match

06:45 sri jberger: i had the exact same though, abstraction just for the sake of it :)
06:48 sri but i think the catalyst architecture encourages that, there is not actually very much you can easily work on without getting upstream authors involved, which most likely takes a hell of a lot of time
06:49 TenshiLyle joined #mojo
06:50 sri just look at the stuff jjnap wanted to fix in plack, he doesn't really have a chance to change anything of significance without a hell of a lot of effort
06:51 sri streaming in plack is still totally broken... we've been talking about it for over 2 years... but nobody works on it because it's too much effort

06:57 sri it's not a full recompilation
06:58 sri the regex comparison just happens later, making it quite a bit slower

10:59 sri *crickets*
11:15 sri jquery has some interesting selector extensions http://api.jquery.com/category/selectors/jquery-selector-extensions/
11:16 * sri wonders if we should steal one or two
11:17 sri could give them a -mojo-* prefix xD
11:18 sri $dom->find('div:-mojo-has(p)')
11:20 sri the possible conflict with css4 sucks a bit though... http://dev.w3.org/csswg/selectors4/#relational
11:20 Ralesk oh god, they're already onto CSS4?
11:20 sri for years actually
11:21 Ralesk while CSS3 is still kinda... not quite done yet?
11:21 Ralesk (or have I been living under a rock?)
11:21 sri you have
11:21 Ralesk :D
11:22 Ralesk I mean, I know parts of it have been in use by various browsers even without -browser-blah incantations, but I haven't heard the internet cheer about how The Entire CSS3 has been released :)
11:24 sri what's commonly known as css3 is not one spec
11:24 sri it's dozens
11:24 sri the one spec linked above is selectors level 4
11:25 Ralesk ah, modularity :)
11:26 sri specs like this one... which is not even finished yet http://www.w3.org/TR/css3-animations/
11:27 * Ralesk is glad he does as little HTML, CSS and JS and generally browser-facing things as possible
11:27 sri selectors level 3 on the other hand have been out forever http://www.w3.org/TR/selectors/
11:28 Ralesk ah, yeah
11:33 Ralesk Question to the Postgres users here: any experience with dealing with losing the DB connection occasionally, and especially dealing with it from within Mojolicious?

12:32 john I'm attempting to trace a problem between a phone app and my mojo webservices
12:32 john The phone app is using javascript xhr (or similar) to do a GET
12:33 john the webservices are telling me it is a POST and returning an error
12:33 john So, how does my morbo webservice determine that it is a GET or a POST, please?
12:34 john I've put debug all over the phone app, the xhr is definitely being passed a GET
12:34 john It works on android
12:35 john But IOS simulator is borked
12:35 john Also, how might I dump all the headers of a request when it first lands? ie before routing takes place.

13:19 dotan_dimet crab: I think it's a technology for making cross-platform apps with javascript.
13:23 moritz if it's javascript, it's tied to the javascript platform :-)
13:28 john it's a god awful javascript front end to IOS and Android native libs.
13:28 john IOW, you write in js and get a native phone app.
13:28 john Does tizen too.
13:29 john I think it would have been quicker for me to learn java and objective C
