00:13 Grinnz dammit.. i'm trying to reproduce the SQLite statement handle issue with DBD::SQLite alone and its not working
00:17 Grinnz btw sri your test doesnt actually test for the problem i thought i had, since ->hashes would end up finishing the handle anyway with fetchall
00:17 Grinnz however, it still fails when i added it to Mojo::SQLite and i have no idea why
00:17 Grinnz ><

00:58 Grinnz sri, i think i figured it out: the statement handle is inactive so the second query retrieves the same cached one, but then the first one goes out of scope and finish is called; since it's active again because of the second query, the rows are discarded
00:58 Grinnz i guess it's not a problem for postgres because finish doesn't do that?
00:59 Grinnz like you said, it retrieves all at the beginning
01:08 Grinnz maybe i should just give up on prepare_cached for SQLite, hehe

02:48 crab jberger: yes
02:49 jberger crab: o/
02:49 jberger we were wondering if there was a nice way to cast from Array to point in pg?
02:50 davido_ joined #mojo
02:54 crab hm, not as far as i know. why do you want to, and what do you mean by "nice"?
02:55 mst crab: not what I came up with
02:56 mst crab: SELECT ( '(' || array_to_string('{1,2}'::integer[], ',') || ')' )::point;
02:59 crab if i were binding a literal, i'd just do point(?,?) and bind $foo[0], $foo[1]. if i had an array column in postgres i'd do point(foo[0],foo[1]).
03:00 mst yeah, the thought was being able to find [1, 2]
03:00 crab (er, or foo[1], foo[2] rather)
03:00 mst we're aware that point(?,?) works. just I played with crazy because I could
03:00 mst and then people wondered if there was a non terrible version of it
03:00 crab not that i can think of so soon after waking up, anyway.
03:01 mst maybe I'll play at some point just to confuse people
03:01 mst oh, hey, I could turn it into a function with a little care
03:01 mst array_to_point
03:01 mst that could be fun

20:33 Craftsmanship is hypnotoad the right thing to run a production site on?
20:34 batman Craftsmanship: yes
20:36 Craftsmanship fair enough, what about access/error logging? should i just give that to syslog?
20:38 Grinnz error logging goes to a log/ folder if you have one, for access logging try https://metacpan.org/pod/Mojolicious::Plugin::AccessLog
20:38 Craftsmanship log folder ... what if i want, like, 2 webservers?
20:39 bpmedley Craftsmanship: I use AccessLog plugin, as well.
20:39 Craftsmanship okies
20:40 bpmedley Craftsmanship: AccesLog lets you specify the access log filename.  So, you put a hostname in it, if you want.
20:40 Grinnz https://metacpan.org/pod/Mojolicious::Guides::Tutorial#Mode
20:41 Grinnz unfortunately there isnt really a built in way to set error log location, what i do is set app->log->path and then delete app->log->{handle} (to reopen it if it's been opened)
20:41 Grinnz in startup
20:43 Craftsmanship oh, i see
20:43 Grinnz (note, that is both your error and debug log)
20:44 Grinnz hypnotoad runs in production mode by default though, which will turn off debug logging
20:45 Craftsmanship that seems like a good thing.

22:45 bpmedley How well does Mojolicious run on FreeBSD?
22:51 lluad Haven't tried it - just Linux and OS X -  but I'd be surprised if it didn't run just fine.
22:53 lluad (It's been in ports for ~ 5 years, so if there were any issues I'm sure someone will have noticed and fixed them by now :) )
22:54 bpmedley lluad: cool, thx
