06:45 sri i bet that daddy longlegs i've thrown out yesterday is laughing at me from outside the window now... (they eat this kind of spider)
06:45 bd maybe the spider is a manifestation of the bug solving part of your brain. hunting bugs while you sleep. very xzibity. would explain why cou can't find it.
06:49 tempire I always leave daddy long legs spiders alone for just that reason.

07:22 damaya Hey all, how do you get syntax highlighting for .html.ep files in vim?
07:23 damaya I installed mojo.vim plugin, but syntax highlighting does not work
07:24 buu heh
07:24 buu damaya: what ft does it read the files as?
07:26 damaya yeah, that's the thing... everything is on, and when I do a :filetype detect it works
07:27 buu er, which works?
07:28 damaya Anyway, the filetype is empty until I do a :filetype detect
07:29 buu ok
07:29 buu Does the coloring work then?
07:30 damaya Yeah, works after :filetype detect
07:30 damaya :/ not getting the filetype for some damn reason
07:31 damaya detection is on. I think it has something to do with nerdtree, because this only just started happening and the only change I made was installing nerdtree.
07:41 batman damaya: i got this in my vim config: :autocmd Bufenter *.ep set filetype=epl
07:41 buu Yeah.. I had to add a bunch of those for my perl related file types
07:45 damaya batman, thanks! Oddly, =epl only highlighted embedded Perl code, not HTML. I changed it to filetype=html.epl and everything is highlighted now.
07:45 batman cool :)
07:45 damaya Still, weird that filetype detection is on, yet it doesn't detect automatically, but it does work when I do a :filetype detect
07:45 damaya rabbit holes man :D
07:46 damaya ok, awesome, my vim is set up

13:33 genio man, your vimrc file is huge compared to mine of 8 lines.
13:33 mst mine's longer than that: http://www.trout.me.uk/X11/vimrc
13:34 genio heh.  you typed colon h again you idiot  :)
13:35 mst pretty much that entire config is for purposes of disabling features I don't use, don't want, don't understand ... and tend to turn on accidentally via typo
13:43 genio I made my config file so long ago.  I'm glad I commented a couple of things so I'd know what they were for:  https://gist.github.com/genio/cbce5aae9970ae375779
13:48 jnbek joined #mojo
13:48 mst there's several lines in mine that are basically "I don't care how many different things are going to try and turn synhi on, GO AWAY"
13:48 mst http://trout.me.uk/synhi.jpg
13:51 genio hahaha.  I've gotten so used to highlighting that it's hard to do without
13:52 hernanGOA haaha
13:52 hernanGOA syntax on
13:53 mst synhi really doesn't work for me; the enforced granularity of analysis means that when my brain jumps from one level to another (statement vs. block vs. function etc.) my mental parser changes modes, but the synhi doesn't, and it makes it harder for me to focus
13:53 mst I also hate interactive debuggers, puppies, and flowers
13:53 Grinnz lol

16:03 asarch How can I set the default format to 'xhtml' without actually doing a $self->render(format => 'xhtml'); in every controller?
16:08 batman asarch: why are you using such an ancient and broken format? :(
16:08 batman asarch: http://mojolicio.us/perldoc/Mojolicious/Renderer#default_format
16:08 asarch I would like to learn to render xhtml + css3 into PDF
16:08 batman $app->renderer->default_format("xhtml");
16:09 Grinnz_ asarch: XHTML is obsoleted by HTML5 now
16:09 batman i would very much discourage doing anything in xhtml.
16:09 asarch I was learning how to use XLS-FO to render DocBook into PDF
16:10 asarch But it seems that XSL-FO nowadays is also obsolete
16:10 asarch The new "wave" in DocBook to render into PDF is by doing xhtml + css3
16:10 lluad Dunno about obsolete, but there haven't been great toolchains for it.
16:11 asarch The FreeBSD Documentation Project has done some great improving their documentation in the PDF format using DocBook and all those stuffs
16:11 batman jabberwok: the foundation code is a bit comples... you can just do $app->asset("foundation.css" => "https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/foundation/5.5.2/css/foundation.min.css");
16:13 jabberwok Ahhhh thanks batman
16:14 batman jabberwok: it depends a bit if it also conains image assets that you want to serve "locally", but it often just works
16:14 jabberwok true.  p.s., if you want complex -- i can show you fifty lines I already discarded!  =grin=   (( imagine the stack of IBM cards that would have been ))
16:15 batman what fifty lines..?
16:15 asarch It's very awful the xhtml format, I cannot render: "El niño quería una piñata de pingüino" (the boy wanted a penguin piñata) :-(
16:16 jabberwok me trying to manually reinvent wheels
16:16 batman jabberwok: hehe.. ok :) assetpack is pretty round already. let me know it needs improvement

19:38 sri i don't discriminate against unicode
19:38 pink_mist unicode art isn't quite as impressive; there's already a pile of poo
19:39 hernanGOA whats the difference ?
19:39 sri like a million code points? :p
19:40 sri umm, way more
19:40 hernanGOA aha ok :P
19:40 sri no wait, just a little bit more according to wikipedia
19:41 sri haha, accidentally almost correct
19:41 sri "Unicode comprises 1,114,112"
19:41 sri "code points"
19:41 hernanGOA nf
19:41 jabberwok Ronald Reagan: "I picture America as a million codepoints..."
19:41 sri so that's 1,113,856 more code points than ascii
19:42 genio are there anywhere near that many known written languages?
19:42 pink_mist I thought ascii only had 128 codepoints :P
19:43 sri right... i thought of extended ascii
19:44 sri ascii is of course just 7 bit
19:44 jabberwok After the first thirty-two, ASCII is out of Controls.
19:44 hernanGOA nowadays when we say ascii art we probably mean unicode art
19:44 hernanGOA but you know.. the original name is ascii art
