06:51 Grinnz http://cpanmetadb.plackperl.org/versions/ well theres an argument for keeping 5.10.1 support...

07:24 nic Those data aren't entirely representative
07:25 nic They're heavily biased towards later versions
07:26 nic ie The proportion stuck on pre-5.14 is even higher in reality
07:27 nic which is annoying cos /me loves da /r modifier

17:18 ZoffixW Does using Test::Mojo for non-test stuff sound sane? All I want is to start an app and let it generate my assets with ::AssetPack. My non-app-related script then copies those assets for use elsewhere...
17:18 ZoffixW My current plan of attack is to start the app up with Test::Mojo
17:19 mattp what is the general approach with websockets in load balanced environments & with restarts?
17:20 mattp have client side handle resets?

17:27 ZoffixW :S why am I getting "Can't locate object method "asset" via package "Mojolicious::Lite" at script.pl line 10." on this code? http://fpaste.scsys.co.uk/501136
17:27 jberger ZoffixW: just use Mojo::Server
17:28 jberger my $app = Mojo::Server->new->build_app('<<app name>>');
17:28 jberger or $app = Mojo::Server->new->load_app('<<script path>>');
17:29 ZoffixW jberger++ thanks
17:29 ZoffixW Though I still have the "can't locate method asset" issue for some reason: http://fpaste.scsys.co.uk/501137
17:29 jberger as to when assetpack does its thing, batman would know that better
17:29 jberger but I think its during startup
17:30 jberger in concept it could be on first request, but I rather doubt it
17:30 ZoffixW Oh, my app is failing to start.
17:30 ZoffixW "Neither readable, nor writeable 'out_dir' directory could be found in static paths"
17:30 jberger ah, well that would do it ;-P
17:30 ZoffixW :)

17:35 ZoffixW :S nope. Not it :/
17:46 ZoffixW This did the trick. Thanks all: http://fpaste.scsys.co.uk/501138

18:22 jberger ZoffixW: ah, I didn't know you wanted a bare app
18:22 jberger you can just do my $app = Mojolicious->new in that case
18:25 sri ZoffixW: http://mojolicio.us/perldoc/Mojolicious/Guides/Cookbook#Application-embedding
18:25 ZoffixW Thanks.
18:25 ZoffixW jberger, I didn't realize AssetPack would make anything if I don't ->run the app.
18:28 jberger you probably shouldn't instantiate a Mojolicious::Lite anyway

20:19 batman ZoffixW: it makes everything when you define the assets, which should be inside startup(), which again is called on new()
20:20 ZoffixW Cool.
20:21 ZoffixW I made a "sprite maker" that has nothing to do with Mojo :) https://github.com/perl6/modules.perl6.org/blob/master/web/lib/P6Project/SpriteMaker.pm

23:44 Grinnz i just noticed github seems to be labeling perl5 as Perl and not Perl6 more reliably now
23:44 Grinnz although most of the test files in mojo are still labaled Perl6
23:45 Grinnz probably because they have "use Mojo::Base" instead of "use strict/warnings"
23:45 Grinnz i still wish they would just have it assume perl5
23:46 Zoffix Grinnz, it's no accident: https://github.com/kraih/mojo/pull/804
23:46 Zoffix :)
23:47 Grinnz yeah i remember that, i never saw when they actually applied it live though
23:47 Grinnz ah i see they finally did apply it to .t also
23:48 Zoffix Too bad it doesn't work 100% right
