03:05 sri guess i liked kingpin more than purple man

03:09 genio I'm on episode 7 now.  Purple man has a pretty awesome power though.  It would be extremely hard not to give in and let that power turn you evil
03:10 sri sure, but the character is pretty shallow, no grand plan
03:11 sri not to spoli anything ;p
03:11 sri *spoil

03:24 * sri found the second half of the season very underwhelming after the very strong start
03:26 sri daredevil was more consistent
03:26 genio I am finding it hard to see how they will continue on with Purple Man for an entire season.  It will get boring
03:27 genio yea, but Daredevil was a bit less... I don't know, dark and real
03:29 sri maybe the ending is supposed to be unsatisfying
03:30 sri there's just no likable characters left
03:37 D4RK-PH0ENiX joined #mojo
03:37 sri they should have purple man try to conquer the world or something
03:38 sri or at least build a criminal empire
03:39 fayland joined #mojo
03:39 genio True in a sense, but if they did it would feel too much like the other crappy movies with an aspiring evil overlord
03:39 genio much like daredevil

11:41 Zoffix CandyAngel, that's terrible. I'm surprised perl isn't crying about the two $images there
11:41 Zoffix I don't see why that hackery is even needed
11:42 Zoffix CandyAngel, and looks like an infinite look that's hammering the same network resource
11:43 Zoffix CandyAngel, do {... } while is what you want I believe, which the condition on checking whether you've got a full set of images on the page.
11:43 Zoffix (and do needs to update the $url)
11:43 woz joined #mojo
11:45 CandyAngel Zoffix: It wasn't a complete example, and I'm not totally sure it does actually work
11:46 Zoffix It works for pages that have fewer than $images_per_page images on them :P
11:46 CandyAngel Yeah, there is an extra bit in the actual code which changes $url :P
11:47 Zoffix A fragile test too... What if the site changes the number of images they display later on? A more robust approach would be to check whether there's a "Next" button and you can set $url to the button's URL if it exists too
11:49 CandyAngel Yeah, I know
11:50 CandyAngel If only their "next" buttons didn't randomly redirect to an ad page :P

11:56 CandyAngel At least that site is more sane than the files I have to parse at work. Let's make a CSV where 4 of the column names are "Task"! WOoooooooo \O~

14:15 kyshtynbai Hi good sirs. <%= %> by default escapes html tags, is it possible to override this behavior so only some HTML tags would be escaped by rendering engine? Or should I probaly use some modules that allow to escape unnsessery tags before data goes to the table and use <%== %> while rendering?

15:15 jberger kyshtynbai: there is a third option which is if you have some function that returns a Mojo::ByteStream it will not be escaped
15:15 jberger so you could do something like:
15:16 jberger helper some_escape => sub { ...; return Mojo::ByteStream->new($pre_escaped) }
15:16 jberger then later <%= some_escape ... %>

15:31 Quai (rendering unescaped data in a template is almost always a bad idea...)
15:33 Grinnz_ batman: "name" is the "realname" field right?
15:35 batman not sure actually... maybe this will give you the answer :) https://github.com/jhthorsen/mojo-irc/blob/master/lib/Mojo/IRC.pm#L285
15:35 Grinnz_ hmm... i think so yes
15:35 * Grinnz_ checks the wikipedia page...
15:36 Grinnz_ yeah that's the realname
15:36 Grinnz_ in that case, i don't care what you put there ;)
15:37 batman ok. so it's won't be "leaking information" if i expose the application name?
15:38 batman i = mojo-irc
15:38 batman oh. that was an awful sentence :( ... can you decrypt it Grinnz_ ? :)
15:39 Grinnz_ hehe
15:39 Grinnz_ well, i don't know, if it's documented i wouldn't mind
15:39 batman ok
15:40 batman i'll wait for marcus before making the change...

15:49 marcusr batman: I'm in support of adding local_address
15:49 batman cool and not cool (in that order)
15:50 batman marcusr: nice. i'll try to fix the test suite and merge it then

19:11 ZoffixW 161,843 lines of code in 645 files that have 845 lines of tests if 7 files.
19:12 ZoffixW :) Should keep me busy :)
19:12 CandyAngel What you need is infinite computers and a good RNG :P
19:13 ZoffixW haha
19:14 ZoffixW It actually has a code-line-counter.pl in it that's telling me there are 120,001 lines in 597 files.
19:14 ZoffixW I figure Mojolicious version could be 10% of that, if I design it correctly :P

21:04 genio Not really.  The POD is less than descriptive.  Flower::Chronos is a class used in Flower.  Flower is a meshed P2P client running between trusted peers on a LAN or WAN network.  STATUS  Flower is not yet operational
21:16 Grinnz_ the synopsis tells you to clone the repository and build/install it with dzil

21:54 jberger wow
21:55 genio I'm not so familiar with WordPress.  Is that all of wordpress itself moving to node or just one front-end thingy?
21:56 Adurah Wonder how many unupdated plugins there'll be, heh...
21:56 Zoffix Damn... all this time I spent learning PHP to be one of the cool kids.
21:57 Grinnz_ node.js... at least it's not php (this time)
21:57 Zoffix Well, I highly doubt PHP version of Wordpress will die.
22:00 jberger Grinnz_: yeah, but its javascript
22:00 Grinnz_ there are a lot of things on phpsadness.com that aren't fundamental issues in javascript
