00:24 jberger sri: not a fan of the 1337 urls anymore?
00:24 sri legal stuff, see #mojo-core ;p

00:49 sri you know, i didn't expect perl6 to vanish that quickly from the news
00:50 sri you'd think at least a few prominent hackers would review it
00:50 sri my outlook was pretty pessimistic, but it's worse than i thought :o
00:53 sri on the plus side, maybe we can get over it now and put some money into perl5 :p
00:56 hernan604 joined #mojo
00:58 jberger honestly its about hit what I expected
00:58 jberger you get the publicity that you work for

01:01 sri think i'm ready to invest more into javascript
01:02 sri we should put more thought into our own js lib for browsers
01:02 sri for multiplexed websockets, reconnect and stuff
01:03 jberger that'd be cool
01:04 jberger easy multiplexing of websockets would be excellent
01:29 * sri opened https://github.com/kraih/mojo/issues/891
01:32 melo joined #mojo
01:35 sri also added the first big problem ;p
01:36 preaction you could do a broker using websockets, like i did with Mercury
01:36 sri for the record, rails actioncable simply depends on redis, and phoenix has erlangvm superpowers for message passing
01:37 preaction socket.io has its own thing as well, a frontend lib and a backend lib
01:45 jberger For Minion::Notifier I just did basic pluggable architecture

02:42 mspo how do I change the name of a mojolicious::lite route"
02:46 mspo ?
02:47 preaction it's the third argument, i believe: get "/path" => sub { } => "Name";
02:49 mspo neat that worked
02:49 mspo thanks

13:36 mspo is there a way to create per-request routes?

15:33 jberger mspo: not really, the router is immutable after the first request
15:33 jberger You can have a catch all route
15:35 jberger And parse it out yourself
15:36 MartinR mspo, it would be better if you describe your whole problem
15:56 sh4 joined #mojo
16:12 mspo I'm adding them in before_routes and deleting them in after_dispatch
16:13 mspo jberger: yeah that's less fun to use, though
16:25 jberger mspo: IF that kind of dynamicism works,  it certainly isn't recommended nor officially supported
16:25 mspo maybe it's too far
16:27 mspo I can't say if it works yet since I haven't rendered any content, just looked at the output of app->routes ;)
16:28 mspo although weirdly the output of the morbo dev 404 page (that lists the routes) seems to have an occasional issue with it
16:29 mspo MartinR: I'm making a single app that can handle many similar types of pages
16:29 mspo MartinR: hopefully contained exclusively in the single source file + the db
16:30 mspo I could definitely get what I'm trying to do with ->over() conditions as well but I wanted the app to be as agnostic as possible
16:31 mspo maybe on-startup vs per-request is good enough
16:33 mspo but i"m just fleshing out ideas at the moment so this is good enough

16:47 mspo MartinR: I'm so burned out at my job by setting up nested wordpress installs that I just need to do something different
16:47 mspo is the real problem ;)
16:48 bpmedley mspo : Mojolicious is a breath of fresh air.. :)
16:50 mspo yeah I like it
16:50 mspo nesting wordpress installs is just.. enough to drive you crazy

18:06 mspo can I load templates from a database somehow?
18:09 Grinnz if you mean retrieve them yourself, sure, you can render them inline https://metacpan.org/pod/Mojolicious::Guides::Rendering#Rendering-inline-templates
18:09 Grinnz if you mean have the renderer automatically retrieve them, that would be trickier
18:12 Grinnz you could easily write a helper that retrieves the appropriate template and renders it, though
18:12 damaya joined #mojo
18:12 Grinnz it probably wouldn't benefit from caching, of course
18:12 mspo varnish exists for a reason ;)
18:15 mspo Grinnz: I was actually thinking more like app->templates->add(name => foo, contents => bar)
18:15 mspo I could just do that on startup
18:16 Grinnz you'd want them all loaded into memory?
18:16 mspo sure, why not?
